"Very prompt and organized. Andrea came out during the day while they were working on the roof to check on progress and to see if there were any questions. She also followed up by email to see if we had any questions and was very transparent on the extra cost of having to replace some of the decking. "I have to commend these guys and the job they did with my roof. I had a partially collapsed roof from the snow and ice buildup on my roof. I needed the repair done urgently and withing budget. I got may quotes on the job with some outrageous bidding to be honest. Overstate gave me a fair price and told me exactly what needed to be done. Within a week the job was completed and my home is leakproof again."

"Home Adavisor mandates that I rate a company even though I did not hire them = not fair. I can not attest as to to the quality of their work although they certainly appear to be reputable. I had a small vinyl siding job (2 square) and the rep indicated that they don't really take on small jobs and that his quote would not not be competitive with a local central CT contractor."

Skipping the installation of a drip edge or gutter apron can lead to significant water damage. Without this component, water is more likely to seep under roofing materials or leak behind gutters, damaging the fascia, soffits, siding, and even the interior of your home, such as the attic. Over time, this moisture can cause rot, mold, and deterioration. In colder climates, a missing drip edge also increases the risk of ice dams, which can lead to expensive repairs. A drip edge is an essential part of a roof's drainage system, and some local building codes may even require its installation to protect the home from water damage.

The ridge is the horizontal line where two sloping roof sections meet at the top, forming the highest point of the roof. A hip, on the other hand, is the external angle formed where two roof sections meet and slope downward toward the walls, typically at a lower angle than the ridge. The ridge runs horizontally along the peak and the hip runs diagonally from the peak to the roof's edges.

The green coloration that develops on copper roofs is called a “patina,” and it’s a result of mild oxidation on the surface. The oxidation process is not harmful to your roof. In fact, the surface corrosion acts as a protective layer and won’t spread to the core of your copper roof materials. The discoloration will progress much more quickly in damp or humid climates than it will in dry climates. If you don’t like the green color, you can seal your roof to preserve the shiny, rose-gold look.
