Customers say: Quick response

"Nick was very professional and reliable. I was expecting to reglaze entire tub but when he saw it he suggested just refinishing the part that was worn off. He matched the glaze perfectly with the entire tub. He saved me a lot of money! I would definitely recommend Nick to anyone reglazing bathtubs. Entire tub looks brand new!!!! Very happy with his work."

Customers say: True professional

"We were looking to replace a tub and fix a leak in our old house. Jeff came and inspected and gave us a very reasonable estimate. They replaced the tub and the tile contractors were great. We then thought we'd just throw in a change of toilet and that then revealed a serious flooring problem. We ended up remodeling the small bathroom and Jeff did a great job. He is honest and wants to make the customer happy."

"Damian was great and fair in his pricing. He fixed a leak in a pipe in our upstairs bathroom by cutting into the wall and applying the necessary repairs to stop the leak. The work was very professional and I would definitely hire him again to fix any of my issues plumbing issues in the future."

Bathtub Restoration questions, answered by experts

Resurfacing a bathtub is less expensive than replacing one. Resurfacing a tub costs about $330 to $630, depending on the material, while replacing a tub costs an average of $4,150. But remember that resurfacing is a temporary solution for a worn-out tub, and you may need to refinish a tub every few years to keep it looking new.

There are a few ways to check whether your tub is fiberglass or acrylic. If your tub is a color other than white, then your tub is likely acrylic (as fiberglass tubs are usually white). Check to see if there is discoloration on the bottom of the tub, because if it’s yellowed, then you can be fairly sure it’s fiberglass.

Also, fiberglass tubs have thinner edges and are cool to the touch. Acrylic, on the other hand, is either room temperature or warm to the touch.

Typically, you need to wait two to three days after reglazing before using your bathtub. This allows the epoxy resin to cure properly. However, the exact time can vary depending on the materials used. Some quick-dry epoxy kits cure in as little as 12 hours, while others may have a four-hour cure time, allowing for same-day use. To ensure the epoxy dries correctly, ventilate the bathroom well. Always check the manufacturer’s instructions and consult with your reglazing professional for specific guidance on when it is safe to use the tub.

It takes about 24 hours for the tub resurfacing smell to go away or the total dry time, although you will notice it the most during the first couple of hours. Refer to the manufacturer’s instructions or ask your bathtub resurfacing pro how long it takes for the smell to dissipate.

The process involves cleaning the surface, applying bonding agents or new veneers, and finishing with a protective top coat or polish.
