- Sila Heating, Cooling, Plumbing and ElectricalBought the BIG DEAL burner cleaning/inspection for $84.50 plus $45.00 because it is an oil burner...still a bargain. Scheduling was a tiny bit of a challenge at first because I live a good distance away from their location (45 minutes or more), but I'm impressed that they undertook the work...especially at that price. A bit of miscommunication about unlocking the bulkhead for (possibly) an earlier arrival necessitated a return trip and another tech arriving at 3:00, the original appointment time. Derek was polite and his behavior very professional. He performed the work and gave me the pertinent information and instructions. I have an older system with a less than dependable bleeder, and so he showed me where the reset button is and how to use it. He did this just in case a bubble in the fuel line caused the system to shut down. I remember jokingly telling him not to say things like that, because it'll happen. (Something Derek reminded me of later) It did happen...hours later...and wouldn't reset. I called the office and left a voicemail on the emergency line and Derek called me within minutes. I tried to reset a few more times with him on the phone, but had no luck. It was almost 11PM at this point and he lives hours from here. I told him it could wait until morning, that we have a wood stove and were willing to camp out in the living room for the night. Derek was here by 7:30AM and did whatever was necessary to restore our heat...and we each learned something about the weird intricacies of my healthy, but rathered elderly heating system. Bumpy, perhaps...but things happen. What was important was/is the level of service and the timely response of a good natured technician. I would hire Unique Indoor Comfort again...and intend to, especially since they now know my oil burner better than anyone

All the workers were wonderful, from our initial contact with John Flynn and then to foreman Tim and his assistant, Lucas. They all were punctual, polite, professional and personable. On April 17, I received a text message telling me the technician would be coming at the scheduled time on April 18. Two hours later, I got a phone call from the scheduler at HD Air. She said they would have to cancel the appointment because they had received several emergency calls. She told me we could reschedule, but the next available date was mid-June. "Overall it went pretty well.
<br /> The guys showed up a bit late and arrived with 2 fewer guys than originally indicated. When the foreman saw the job he was concerned that he needed the two other guys and whether they would be able to complete the job the same day.
<br /> My unit is on top of the space with asbestos but they assured me that there was no risk and that they would seal the ceiling.
<br /> By 12:30, they finished the job which seemed exceptionally fast and left me slightly concerned that they hadn't sealed everything completely during the removal.
<br /> During the process, they also accidentally broke the clamp holding the ground wire down to the water meter but luckily I noticed it the following day.
<br /> Finally, they forgot to remove all the protective elements as there was still a piece of plastic covering the window that they had put, which again left me concerned about their thoroughness.
<br /> Still they did a quick job and for a good price and the air quality test they performed shows that the area was safe.
<br /> They are often difficult to communicate with - full voice mail - no email reply - but they got the job done and now the building is asbestos free.

"The sales man assured me they would bring space heaters, it was the dead of winter, they did not.I had a father and son come to the house to install a new furnace. When they removed the old thermostat in my hallway, the new one was smaller. he didn't add a cover plate so you could see the old holes, he left the drill shavings on the floor. After they finished the furnace, the PVC pipe that went outside had a dip in it, it was leaking. The attachment next to the furnace, was leaking. They added PVC extensions to the exhaust pipes outside, they went from code height to 4 feet tall, I told them to remove them it looks like the back of a restaurant. He said he could not someone would have to come and remove them. I called the office and went through the list of complaints,They did send another guy out the next day. He had to cut and replace all the PVC pipes, fixed all the other leaks, added a plate in the hallway, cut the added PVC pipes outside, but he did fix everything. I have not had a problem since with the unit. So I was conflicted about this review. It started out a disaster but ended good. Just hope you don't get the bad eggs if you hire them.
