Small jobs welcome

"I called Marlon on a Tuesday night and told him it was going to be a tough job and would require a few people. He said no problem and showed up the next morning at 9:30 with 2 other guys and cleared everything in 1h20m and there was a 500lb cast iron tub, 7 radiators, a fridge that we needed to bring over the balcony, and a bunch of debris. Couldnt be happier with the service."

"We worked with Heap Paving to replace and expand our existing driveway and we could not be more pleased with our experience. When we sent our inquiry Mitch came the next day to give us a quote. The quote was fair and they told us up front how long it would be before they could do the work. When it came time there were some delays due to a significant amount of rain we received over a few weeks but Mitch kept me updated throughout. The delays did not bother us as we weren't in a rush but I appreciated being informed. The day came and they completed everything in about 6 hours. They are very professional and efficient. I love our new driveway! It looks so smooth and even with clean lines. They did a beautiful job. After they were done Greg the owner went over everything with me to make sure I get the best out of my new driveway. I would definitely recommend Heap Paving to anyone looking for asphalt driveway service."

Land Clearing Services questions, answered by experts

You can’t build on undeveloped land without preparing it for construction, which involves running utilities to the site or accounting for private utilities like wells and septic systems and grading and compacting the soil for safe construction. Once you prepare the land, you can build on it as long as the project abides by local zoning regulations.

Prior to excavation, you should prepare the dig site and call 311 before you sign anything.

To get your site ready for excavation, you should move anything in the area that isn’t affixed to the land. You can save money on the excavation by removing hardscaping, including walkways, decks, concrete patios, and paver patios.

Before you carry out any digging, you should call 311 to confirm that there are no utility lines running through your excavation site. Skipping this step could lead to severe injury and property damage if your excavator hits a water, sewage, or gas line.

To prepare for a land survey, you must thoroughly check your land surveyor’s qualifications, reviews, and fees to align with your expectations. When it is time for the survey to be conducted, ensure that you have all your documents organized and available, know and mark your property lines, and inform your neighbors that the survey is happening.

If you or your mortgage lender think your land survey needs to be more accurate, double-check the survey report and get at least a second opinion from the original surveyor and an inspector, if possible. Although it’s unlikely, even reputable surveying companies can make mistakes. An inaccurate survey can cause problems down the road in the case of any property line disputes, so it’s best to resolve any inaccuracies as quickly as possible.

Depending on the type of land survey, the report will mark the boundaries of your property, the topographical changes of the landscape, as well as major natural and added structures to the plot. A more detailed survey, like an as-built survey, will note the measurements of the structures and landscape following major construction. A topographic survey will also help your contractor determine the cost of land development projects.
