"To be fully transparent, I went into this “adventure” with naive trepidation. But with Jeffrey’s guaranteed assurance on design & quality, and his professional install team, we had a fantastic 21/2day project experience from start to finish. Very pleased with putting/chipping green result. Besides adult fun, my future PGA /LPGA grandchildren love it! A favorite addition to our friend & family fun. Highly recommend Grass 365!"

"Jason and his team installed recessed lighting throughout my home and rewired my kitchen during a renovation. They were on time and worked efficiently. Cleaned up after themselves too! They didn't leave dust and debris everywhere. Very impressed and will hire again."

"Rob and his team did an amazing job on my property in Mattapoisett! The team removed trees, trimmed trees and bushes and mulched the property. I have a fairly involved landscape, so I needed a pro team with a truly professional landscaper's vision. Every detail was attended to. Rob has a great eye for keeping what needs to be kept but trimmed and more importantly, has a great eye for what needs to be removed. Excellent value - the team was I can't recommend the more highly!"

Brush Chipping questions, answered by experts

DIY is possible for small amounts of waste. Professional services handle larger volumes efficiently.

Digging a bush up by the roots is the most natural DIY method for removing a bush stump. Start by identifying the shrub type and revealing its roots. Cut the shrub to its base and loosen the soil, ensuring no utility lines are nearby. Optionally, treat the base with herbicide, then dig around the roots and cut a circle around the shrub using various tools. Dig a trench, cut the base of the root ball, and finally fill the hole to prevent regrowth. This thorough process ensures complete removal without damaging surrounding areas.

Leaf removal isn’t usually necessary, and in fact, leaving leaves where they fall or mulching them instead can provide nutrients to your soil that can be good for your lawn and garden beds. Most homeowners prefer the look of a lawn that is neat and clean, though, so the majority of people prefer to pay for leaf removal. There are some cases where you might have to pay for leaf removal, like if you live in a strict homeowners association that mandates the service or a generally clean lawn.

In general, you can prune up to one third of the height of most shrubs without damaging them. There are a few exceptions to this rule: Pine shrubs, for example, can’t be trimmed below the point of new growth without damaging them.

Skunks like to forage for grubs in the soil, like worms and insects, but they are also tempted by trash and pet food bowls, so keeping these items out of sight may help keep skunks away. Skunks also like to set up a den in dark places, such as a crawl space or outbuilding.
