"I called ISIS sound when I need some advice on a new media room I wanted built in my basement.   After talking it over with Mr. Jones I hired him.   After a few short days everything I wanted to have installed was in-stock and Mr. Jones picked everything up from the distributor.  I didn't have to do a thing!    Mr. Jones and his guys came in and installed an 80inch plasma TV on the wall in my media room.  We also had a 9.2 Boston Acoustics surround sound and a Marantz sr7008 receiver installed.   All the wires were hidden in the walls, which is great!  The sound is unbelievable.    One of the best thing about the whole system is I can control it all with a really simple to use remote control or on my Ipad.  The guys at Isis sound even fixed the hand rails that we're loose going into my basement, and my sliding screen door while they we're here.    I almost forgot,  Every thing has a 5 year warranty so you have the piece of mind that the system wont cost you anything more for at least the next 5 years.   I highly recommend ISIS sound."

Central Vacuum Systems questions, answered by experts

A central vacuum system can be a worthwhile investment depending on your needs and budget. While the upfront cost is higher than a traditional vacuum cleaner, it offers significant long-term benefits. These systems can save you time and make cleaning your home easier, as you only need to carry the hose and vacuum head, eliminating the need to lug a heavy unit up and down stairs. They also tend to operate more quietly and can improve indoor air quality. The convenience and performance over many years may make it a valuable addition to your home if you can budget for the initial installation.

If your central vacuum has lost suction, you probably have a clog in the system. You can remove a clog yourself using a portable vacuum cleaner or central vacuum maintenance sheets. Stubborn clogs or damage to the system require a specialized technician to repair.

No. Only the hose or the attachments are portable in a central vacuum system. A portable vacuum is a standalone model like a stick, canister, or upright. A central vacuum system is defined by a central power unit, which is installed in one place like an AC unit, and the connected network of piping to funnel the suction.

Maintaining your central vacuum cleaner is crucial to extending its lifespan. Ensuring the filter is cleaned or changed often is vital to ensuring clogs don’t impact your motor. In addition, inspecting motor brushes regularly and lubricating the engine when needed helps keep it in tip-top shape. Finally, cleaning the central vacuum hose of dirt and debris helps keep clogs at bay, especially if you’ve vacuumed something wet or sticky.

They’ll use more electricity than the average upright vacuum, but not remarkably more. Most power units plug into a standard 120-volt outlet and don’t have significant power demands. You shouldn’t notice an increase in electricity bills. If you have any specific questions about energy costs, ask your installer as you examine purchase decisions. Larger power units will need more electricity for their suction levels.
