"We had a concrete patio that was riddled with cracks and upheavals. E.A masonry did a wonderful job. They removed the old patio and put in a completely new one. They were very professional, as well as courteous. They cleaned up everything. I would hire these gentlemen again and I would recommend them to friends and neighbors thank you"

"I needed to replace the front steps because they were pulling away from the foundation. I received several quotes and Republic Masonry (Henry) came in with a budget friendly price. Henry and his co-worker were professional and very detail oriented and cleaned up when the job was complete. The stairs look wonderful! I would highly recommend Republic Masonry (Henry) for all your cement projects. Kathy Faye"

"Paul answered my call and provided me a quote on the spot. He performed the work the next day. I wasn't home for it, so he called to confirm that the service was still needed and then he seal coated my 90 square foot driveway without getting any on the landscaping/garage/steps. He taped off the driveway entry so nobody would accidentally park/walk on it. Looks great and it was super easy!"

"Carlos was excellent. Our chimney was brick that had concrete put on it years ago and was all cracked and falling off. Had it repaired years ago but another mason but it did not stick and was now leaking. Carlos took apart the old chimney and a beautiful new one. He offered us a few choices of brick and what we picked really came out great. We did have a slight issue with the cap not curing well due to how think it had to be and the cold weather, but Carlos came back out and set it right. He did a great job and was very professional. Definitely recommend."

Concrete Mudjacking questions, answered by experts

Mudjacking typically takes 24 to 72 hours (one to three days) to dry and cure completely before you can resume normal use. The exact time can vary depending on the size of the project. Because the slurry mixture contains cement, it must fully harden to ensure that added weight from walking, furniture, or vehicles won't shift the concrete slab. A professional contractor can advise you on when the surface is safe to use. For comparison, if you use polyjacking instead, the polyurethane foam can dry in just a few minutes, but it's best to wait about an hour before use.

Most states and municipalities don’t require concrete mudjacking companies to carry a specific license, but they usually need to have a general contractor’s license, and they should be fully insured. The only exception is if the mudjacking company provides foundation repairs as well, or if it offers mudjacking for home foundations. In that case, they will typically need a foundation repair contractor’s license. You can check state requirements and then use Angi’s license lookup tool to confirm that a company is properly licensed to provide mudjacking services in your area.

Mudjacking typically takes 24 to 72 hours (one to three days) to dry and cure completely before you can resume normal use. The total drying time can vary depending on the size of the project. Because the slurry mixture contains cement, it needs to harden fully to prevent the concrete slab from shifting under added weight. You should avoid walking on the concrete or placing heavy items like furniture or vehicles on the surface until it has fully set. Your concrete contractor can provide a precise timeline. As a point of comparison, if you opt for polyjacking, the polyurethane foam can dry in minutes, but it's recommended to wait about an hour before use.

Most projects take 1-3 hours, with immediate usability after completion.

Generally speaking, push piers—or steel piers—are the best option for underpinning, as they reach down to solid bedrock to find support for your foundation rather than relying on soil, which could be subject to the same issues as the soil directly below your foundation. However, the best underpinning method for your home depends on your location, how far down the bedrock is, and the type of soil in your area. Helical piers are usually the best option for sandy soil or in areas where the bedrock is too deep to use steel piers.
