"After first inspection called and specifically asked for moth protection as previous year had some moth. The person scheduling appointment didn't pass  it on to the tech and he arrived with not enough moth protectors. Just 2 instead of at least 6 (4 closets in bedrooms, basement and attic storage spaces). This was in the end of the contract and there was no availability until the contract was over.

"Jim was great!!, when they came out for the initial visit I learned I had a squirrel nest in my chimney, despite having a cap and enclosed wood buring insert. Jim advised that I put moth balls in the stove in an attempt to have the mother leave the chimney. The appointment was rescheduled for the following tues to complete the sweep and replace the Chimney cap. Well the mother squirrel was gone but left behind three very new babies in the nest. Jim took his time and carefully removed the babies and we called animal control since they were alive. Jim then completed the cleaning and replaced the cap. Hopefully this is the end of the squirrel motel. But seriously Chimney Chap did an excellent job both with cleaning, inspection and going above what I would expect to safely remove of my unwanted visitors. I will be sure to continue to use Chimney Chap yearly and for any additional firelplace needs I have.

"They wiggled the damper loose and said it didn't need to be repaired, saw no bats, checked two flues and found that they didn't need to be cleaned. They charged us for inspecting the two chimneys ($35 + $10) and were on their way. We were very happy that they didn't insist on a cleaning when we didn't need one. A very good experience."
