We worked with Steve to design and construct 4 spaces in the home - a new mudroom, a new basement kitchen in a newly built entertainment space, a new basement mudroom and bathroom. My need for a new countertop became apparent when I had a plumber remove my kitchen sink to replace it with a new one.  This happened in September 2014.  Since the countertop needed to be replaced, I decided the time had come to also address issues with the kitchen cabinets.  I got several quotes.  As far as price goes, Saltwater Woodworks was somewhere in the middle, but Matt Sullivan listened carefully, made good suggestions about how to accomplish my objectives, and was the only one who would commit to getting my kitchen back in working condition by Thanksgiving.  And he delivered on this promise.

I am very happy with the work.  There were some problems encountered.  The finish on the new cabinet doors did not match the finish on the refinished cabinet boxes as well as expected; three of the new drawer fronts were damaged during installation and had to be replaced; there was a problem with the hinges on one cabinet door.  All of these problems were corrected to my complete satisfaction and without any objection. 

The entire project, with corrections, took longer than I anticipated.  But once the initial deadline of getting the kitchen up and running by Thanksgiving was met, I was willing to be patient about the corrections and did not press for speedier action.  Matt Sullivan was very good about communication, and I never worried that he would fail to follow through.

"Charlie is very professional.  His prices may be a bit high, but I am a firm believer you get what you pay for.  The quality of this workers and subs was wonderful.  He even has a division that made a custom vanity for the master bath that matched a cabinet we had in there for towels and linens.  He has a good attention to detail.  He was patient working with our condo association that had problems with the new windows he installed and made sure that both groups were happy in the end with the work he did.  We love the work he did on the two rooms and would hire him again.

"First, Brandon answered my call on a Sunday and made an appointment with us for that Tuesday. Brandon and Jim Barry came out and surveyed our project, provided some great ideas and committed to have a quote back to me by the end of the day. Sure enough, by 7PM I had a quote. They were great about working with us so that we could keep to our budget. Best part, they started the following week.
Jim and his crew were amazing. Jim designed a wonderful kitchen and offered his professional opinion on ideas to make the space amazing. They were patient and understanding when we added items onto our to do list. They opened up a staircase for us, updated our bathroom and installed the cabinets and floor. We asked at the last minute if they could complete painting our entire unit and it was completed in only two days.
Our condo is in Boston and we live in NH. I am planning on having Top Notch up to NH to do work here, they are that good.
We put our condo on the market on Friday and by 3PM that Saturday we had two offers. Thank goodness for finding Top Notch!"
