Mass Stump and Tree Removal opened its doors in 1965, by owner Peter Tankis. Peter truly enjoys his work, he is an extremely knowledgeable, dedicated and hard working man who has been climbing and caring for tree’s in the Blackstone Valley area and beyond for years before opening his own company. Peter has two sons by his wife Judy Tankis, Nathan and Jordan, who he has been passing his extensive knowledge in fine tree care to for many years. Nathan has been working with Peter since the early 90’s and is a very knowledgeable and a skilled arborist. Jordan has been full time with the company since the late 90’s and as well as his knowledge in fine tree care, he is also a skilled climber and bucket operator. Judy has also played a large role in the company since its inception. From answering business calls to book keeping to providing meals and caring for the work crew on a daily basis as if they where family. Peter has built his business on the grounds of outstanding tree care, customer satisfaction and safety for his workers and clients alike. Peter has always held to the important belief that being fully insured to protect his clients and those working for him is of top priority.

"They came when they said they would and looked carefully at the two tress that had damaged limbs. Elivon pointed out more twisting damage than I had noticed and suggested that those limbs be removed for the health of the tree. They then carefully removed the very large broken trunk that had come down in the strong winds and cleaned up every bit of the tree remains, down to twigs that had to be raked up. Then one man took the leaf blower and tidied up all the leaves that had fallen during the winter. While some crew members then fed into the chipper all the broken branches from along the driveway, others went all along our stone wall and picked up all the broken pine branches that had come down in the big winds and ground them. This was way more than I had contracted for, and I had the feeling that I was being cared for, not just having work done. And they were the lowest bidder. I recommend S1Tree service with enthusiasm. What a positive experience!!"
