"George and Alex went out of their way to be flexible, professional and customer oriented.  They worked around my schedule and were able to complete my project in a timely manner.  They always showed up on time and made sure the house was cleaner than they left it.  George took the time to consult with us on our wants and needs and didn't try to tack on unnecessary extras.  They made sure to design the layout of the new lights for maximum appeal.

"Within days of purchasing the deal, I received the instructions and paper to draw my table templates. The table has 2 drop leaves plus 2 additional leaves that can be inserted in the table. The templates were pretty easy to draw. The finished pads were delivered in a very short time. They fit the table and each of the 4 leaves perfectly and magnetically lock together to keep them aligned when on the table. A year and a half later, I still love these pads."

"I had 10 years of accumulated landscaping cleanup and flower bed resoration. Dairo came out and reviewed the scope of the work. I initially limited the work to see how they did. They showed up on time and did an obsolutely terrific job. After seeing their work, I added numerous items to the scope of work. They were professional and perfection was their work standard. I will use them again without a second thought."

"A perhaps tricky project needing expert ideas and implementation. Al was patient and helpful sorting out the options. And quite flexible working around carpentry schedules to get the job done. Perhaps the best part of the overall project were the new track lighting, copper wellfleet kitchen pendants, and copper exterior onion lamps."

"George was responsive and direct.  He is busy so we waited a month for our appointment but that is to be expected and was not a problem.

Installed LED fans and left "regular" switches from old fans instructing us to change them to LED compatible.  After several visits from electricians and visits to lighting stores we learned that regardless of the switches, these fans could not be put on a dimmer, made a loud humming sound, gave off an ugly green/yellow dim light and the fan only worked at one speed - we needed new fans.

With the help and guidance (and expense) of another electrician, we purchased new fans and switches that are PERFECT and I am so happy with them.  If we had just left the original work, I really was beginning to hate the upstairs of my home..."

Lighting questions, answered by experts

Costs depend on system type, issue severity, and labor rates.

Simple repairs like replacing bulbs can be DIY projects, but professionals should handle significant electrical repairs to ensure safety and compliance with electrical standards.

Before investing in motion sensor lights, there are a couple of disadvantages worth noting. For starters, they’re not as reliable as other forms of lighting. Motion sensor lights can be accidentally triggered by pets or wind, which can become a nuisance after a while. The opposite situation can occur, too, where they don’t turn on when you need them to.

If half of a string of Christmas lights is out, it is likely because of a single burned-out, loose, or broken bulb within that section. Long strands of lights often contain more than one circuit, so when one bulb fails, it can cause the entire circuit (or half the strand) to go dark. To fix this, inspect the unlit section and test each bulb to ensure it is tight and functioning properly. Replacing the faulty bulb or repairing a damaged shunt will typically solve the problem.

There are tons of different types of landscape lighting available, including the choice between solar and wired, incandescent and LED, and a variety of colors. Specific types of lighting include:

  • Pathway lights: $50–$150 per fixture

  • String lights: $50–$150

  • Low-voltage lights: $90–$150 per fixture

  • Porch lights: $65–$250 per fixture

  • Floodlights: $75–$250 per fixture

  • Downlights: $100–$400 per fixture

  • Uplights: $100–$400 per fixture

  • Security lights: $ 350–$500 per fixture

  • Lamp posts: $400–$1,100 per lamp post
