Amaral industries is a small owner-run business, established in 1997. We pride ourselves on old-world craftsmanship, outstanding customer service, and value. Eduardo is the owner of the company and head blacksmith, working with each client personally, and overseeing all aspects of the job. He holds a BFA in sculpture, is the son of an architect, and grandson of a blacksmith. All our work is designed & fabricated at our shop in Bellingham, and installed with care & precision. Initial visit to your home or business, and estimate are free. Extensive design work requires a $250 deposit, which is non-refundable. The fee is deducted from the final cost of the work. We are fully insured. Will also serve the Cape Cod area. Award winning.

We recently had our front walkway and stairs upgraded. The old stair railings needed to be replaced. Based upon a recommendation from our landscape designer we hired Amaral Industries to do the job. Eduardo Amaral discussed the project with me before fabrication took place. Eduardo and his extremely talented assistant Jayden did an amazing job fabricating and installing the railings. I highly recommend Amaral Industries for your decorative ironwork desires!

Eduardo came out for the estimate on time, measured everything and provided me the estimate in writing that morning. The railings were designed and custom-built for us, and they came out to install them in the time frame he provided when he gave us the estimate. They came out and installed the railings right once they were done, and they took the time to talk about the care of the railings we'd need to do. The railings look phenomenal and have gotten compliments from all of our guests about how they match our home so well, and bring such great architectural elements to the house. All of the handrails go well together, and enhanced the beauty of our home tremendously.

Eduardo was prompt and met his deadlines throughout the project. He came out to the site, discussed the details with us, made preliminary drawings for our understanding and then did detail designs with measurements for our approval. His attention to detail is excellent and he made suggestions about curving the railing, utilizing knuckles and utilizing foot pads where the iron entered the granite steps, none of which we would have thought. These suggestions produced an elegant railing, and I frequently stop midway into the drive to just sit and admire the finished work! This entire project has exceeded my expectations and I would not hesitate to use Amaral Industries in the future. They are true artisans in fabrication and metalwork. metalwork

It went very well. Eduardo was on time, professional and communicative. He is also an artist, and the railings he designed, fabricated and installed match our 150 year old house perfectly. The railings look new and at the same time look as if they have always been there. Neighbors walk by and know the house looks better but can't say what it is. When I say "we installed new railings" they say, "they look as if they have always been there." We are very happy with our new railings.

Eduardo and Billy were fantastic. Eduardo arrived for all visits on time -- for the estimate, measuring, and installation, was so friendly and easy to talk to. No sales pressure and a genuine concern for what we needed and the best way to install it, including an extra support because our steps are so long and a change in placement to maximize the width between rails to accommodate furniture moving. The rails are beautiful, high quality and very well suited to our home. Installation was both carefully done and efficient, and Eduardo and Billy explained everything and showed me what they were doing. They even cleaned up and took away the old pipe rails. You could not find a pleasanter, more professional service than Amaral!

Ed came out for inspection of work to be done right away, provided a proposal after a thorough measuring and plotting of the work required, provided a fair price. I signed on the spot. He gave an accurate assessment of when he would be able to complete the work. Yesterday, Ed completed the railing installation. The design conforms beautifully with the setting, installation very professional. He was a pleasure to deal with. I definitely would engage Ed and Amaral Industries Inc again.

I vowed I would not go another winter without a railing on our new stone steps. After calling a few people who would not return calls, I found Amaral Industries on Angie's List. Not only did he have a very professional website, but when I called, someone actually answered. His wife was a pleasure to deal with and set up an appointment for Eduardo to look at our job. When we met Eduardo, we liked him instantly - very friendly and reasonable to work with. We discussed our needs, and Eduardo suggested a design for the railings that took inspiration from our front door (Mission style). We exchanged some photos on designs we liked. And we had the railings coated with galvanized steel so that we wouldn't have to worry about painting them. We were very pleased with the resulting design. looks, and quality. Once they were ready for installation, the work was done quickly and efficiently. At all times, Eduardo was very thoughtful about taking off his boots when he came in the house, even though we told him it wasn't necessary. What I especially noticed was how well-equipped he was for installation. We provided power for the machines they used to install the railings, but he had a backup plan for how to get it done even if we hadn't.
We couldn't recommend Eduardo more highly. Call him!

We asked Amaral Industries to bid on a cable rail system for our newly constructed front steps. Eduardo came to our house and discussed the design, and mentioned a concern that a cable rail system might not be appropriate for our stairs and landing. His main concern was that the sharp angles and corners of the landing, as well as the point where the landing and stairs meet, would not be appropriate for a cable system. But he agreed to investigate further. At that time, Eduardo took very detailed measurements of our steps so that he could accurately recreate the stairs back in his shop. This would allow him to build the railings and be sure that they would fit the stairs perfectly.
Eduardo got back to us promptly, confirming his concern and recommending that we build a steel railing system instead of the cable system. He showed us detailed designs and gave us a fixed bid for all of the work, including installation and consultation with building inspectors, if necessary. We agreed to proceed with the project, and paid him a deposit to begin the project.
We were extremely happy with the whole process, as well as the finished installation. Throughout the process Eduardo or someone in the shop kept us informed of their progress. When the railings were complete and the galvanizing process was finished, he scheduled the installation within days.
The installation at our home occurred today (9/2/15). There were lots of details, including drilling holes in the steps and landing. Eduardo and his crew were very thorough, detailed, and neat in their work. They kept the whole area clean, and were respectful of the landscaping surrounding the stairs and landing. The holes drilled in our bluestone were very neat, and they did not scratch the surface of any of our steps or landing. They protected other surfaces with cardboard to avoid any damage during installation.
My wife and I are extremely happy with their work and wouldn't hesitate to use them in the future, or to recommend them to others.

Eduardo called me back right away regarding a potential quote for this work. He was able to provide some ideas and an initial price range based on pictures sent via email. This was very convenient and helpful. Once I decided to proceed, Eduardo came to the job site to measure and provide an official quote. The official quote was spot on the estimated quote. His work was completed as agreed and on time. He was very helpful answering any questions that I had through all phases of the job and truly was a pleasure to work with. I would not hesitate to contact him again for future work.

We needed to replace the handrails leading up to our front porch because the original railings were rusting out after 40 years. Called Amaral, and was quickly transferred to Eduardo, the owner. He described what they can do and answered all of my questions very well. I sent him some pictures of our stoop and rough measurements. He used that to give me a quick approximate estimate with some different options (estimate came in 2 days). Next he came out the next week and took careful measurements and looked for potential issues with the install. Eduardo, then gave me a detailed quote and project drawing for the work a few minutes later. I decided on the spot to have his company do the work. Paid him the deposit. He said the install would be in 4-6 weeks. The railing needed to be fabricated. He called 4 weeks later and said they would be out the following week and told me what time they would be here. He was here on time and quickly installed the railings. They are much better quality than the ones that were replaced, at least twice as heavy and very solid. Eduardo was very professional throughout the process. Communicated well - returned phone calls, emails quickly and clearly. Very personable and easy to work with. This was one of the easiest processes I have been through with home repair.

Great! We were very nervous that getting a railing would be ugly (we needed it as a necessity but had assumed it would not look great). Lucky us, we had Eduardo who did a great job. We've had several neighbors compliment us and the price was great. He designed a rail that really blends in with our arts and crafts home. He is also just a nice guy who is a pleasure to work with.

I called Amaral Industries after reading great reviews on Angie's List. Eduardo was very responsive to my call and set up a time to come out to give me an estimate for the project. In reviewing possible options, I was impressed with his candor, knowledge and attention to detail. He had a respectful, easy going manner and, in reviewing the structure and design of my house, mentioned that I could consider wood rails even knowing he would lose out on business with that option. After I mentioned that I would still like to consider wrought iron, he measured all areas carefully after explaining and sketching out how he could make and install railings that would be safe and esthetically pleasing. Afterward, my brother, who is an architect, reviewed the design Eduardo had sketched and gave his seal of approval which really impressed me as he is a perfectionist, so I decided to go ahead with the proposal. Eduardo designed 2 lovely black wrought iron rails, one for the steps leading up to the breezeway and another for the steps leading up to the house door. He just finished installing the rails and I am very pleased with his workmanship and installation!! I would highly recommend him!!

The process of working with Eduardo from start to finish was fantastic. Based on the reviews, Amaral Industries was the only blacksmith we decided to contact, this is why we rated price as NA; we opted not to meet with anyone else. Eduardo responded to our calls and emails very promptly.
Although we had come up with a preliminary railing design a couple months prior to the steps being installed; we were able to show Eduardo a picture of something that caught our eye on the day he came out for measurements. Upon seeing our project and our inspirational photo, Eduardo was able to quickly shift gears and incorporate the new design. Given the modern look we were attempting to achieve, he suggested using galvanized steel for the project.
The finished product is amazing, it's a beautiful final touch to the hardscaping we had done. To us this is more than a railing; it's a work of art.
