"Mark Rogerson personally came out to the house to test for radon. He is extremely personable and is incredibly knowledgeable. He is a ‘no-pressure’ guy and made us feel very comfortable. He was on time and always kept me informed as to when he would be at our house. I highly recommend Rogerson Enterprises LLC if you have any worries about radon in your house."

"I bought a radon meter a few months ago and notice that the radon level in basement is very high. It seems the original radon mitigation system is not working. I went through a few different radon companies in the last few months. The original radon company who was hired by the builder did not even bother to show up to take a look at the issue. Dennis from Boston radon is simply amazing! He is extremely knowledgeable about radon and even gave me a lot of good advices for other issues in the basement beyond radon. I just have him re-installed a brand new radon system and will test the radon level very soon. Overall, I am very satisfied by his service and I do not think you will go wrong to ask for his help for any radon related issues. He is the man!!!!"

"Radon Systems LLC did a great job. I had a radon level of around 6.5 in my basement for years, and finally decided I needed to address it. After receiving 3 quotes, I had Dave from Radon Systems come over to do the job. I initially was resigned to having the PVC pipe go up the side of my house, but Dave found a way to run the piping inside the basement and go thru the garage, with only 18" of PVC sticking up past the garage roof. Excellent! And now my radon level is around 1.0 to 1.5 all the time. The entire job took half a day, and Dave was clean, respectful and easy to work with. I absolutely recommend them."

"It went fantastic. Scheduling wise the gentlemen at Rhino Radon were quick to respond to our inquiry via there website were I filled out a online questionnaire. Once speaking to Henry about the specifics of my home via phone and letting him no my situation. They were prompt in scheduling a date for installation to assure my radon problem didn't delay my ability to sell the home. From the time I filled out there questionnaire on there website till the system was installed and fully operational, all took place In one weeks time. I no from experience that these days the attentiveness and service Rhino Radon provided me can be difficult to find. Having recently just finished the process of building my own home in Malden and dealing with a wide range of company's and workers. It's the little things that stand out like personal treatment, responding quick to inquiries or concerns and of course taking the time to do things properly the first time around while still treating the home with respect. Rhino Radon came recommended to me via a friend and I couldn't thank them enough for steering me in the right direction for my radon mitigation needs. I would like to do the same to anyone currently searching for a radon company. If you want the job done right and a pleasant experience, look no further for your radon needs then Rhino Radon Services.

Radon Detection and Reduction questions, answered by experts

The natural breakdown of uranium in soil, rock, and water can cause radon to appear in a home. The gas seeps into homes through cracks in foundations, walls, or floors, as well as through gaps around pipes or construction joints. Radon levels are influenced by soil composition, building materials, and ventilation. Poorly sealed or airtight homes can trap radon, allowing it to accumulate.

No, air purifiers are not an effective way to reduce or remove radon. Radon is a radioactive, inert gas that cannot be filtered by standard air purifiers, which are designed to capture particulates like dust and mold. While an air purifier can improve indoor air quality by removing other pollutants, it should not be relied upon for radon. The only effective solution for high radon levels is a dedicated radon mitigation system.

If high radon levels are detected, steps include sealing entry points, installing a mitigation system, and retesting the air regularly to ensure reduced levels.

Your radon fan needs to operate 24/7 to be effective. The only time the fan isn't operating is during its replacement. Radon levels in the home can increase within hours if the fan stops working or something obstructs the stack vent. Fortunately, radon systems require no downtime maintenance between fan changes.

Radon is a cancer-causing radioactive gas that poses serious health risks, infiltrating homes through foundation cracks and unnoticed spaces.
