"Cesar is so professional and knowledgeable. He was extremely patient with us. We were staining the deck and the color was off. Cesar and his crew had to sand the whole deck again and apply the color stain. It was a huge project and Cesar was patient and made sure it was done correctly. I couldn’t have asked for a better job. It’s so beautiful! Thank you again Cesar."

"The area job coordinator/ sales person Eric showed up at my house. Showed me a fancy brochure, which boasts that he would be there every step of the way. I neve saw or spoke directly with him again. To date there has been no follow up on how the job went. One of the painters broke one of my spot lights. He said he would speak to ERIC and get back to me . Never heard from anyone. Since I gave the painters a check when they finished, and Arch cashed it right away, I guess they felt no need to follow up. Beside the broken spot light, I asked the painting supervisor to caulk around the outside lights. He said he did it, but I checked 3 of them and they were not caulked. The painters were good, friendly and completed the job quickly. My feeling is I did not need Arch Painting overhead. I could of hired 3 guy outside of Home Depot and got the same results ."

"They just finished a job for me today (7/31/19). Power washed, scraped and painted my entire house, two decks and a shed and did it all in 3 and a half days. My house looks like a new house after they finished, they did a phenomenal job ! The guys were very friendly, professional and kept the work area clean daily. Can't say enough good things about them and their prices are very reasonable."

"My project has just started. So far, I'm extremely impressed. The owner came out to give me an estimate, and discuss what I wanted for my home exterior staining. Very professional, courteous, and honest. The first stage of washing my home to prepare for staining was also impressive. The foreman who is overseeing the project arrived, and again reviewed everything that will take place. The crew then cleaned my home in only 2 hours! Again very impressive. Prior to leaving, they neatly stacked all the ladders that they used completely out of the way, which is even more important to me because I have a large dog on a run who loves to get into trouble with new objects in the yard. So far, I'm extremely happy with Northern Ridge and highly recommend them."

"Amazing work! We had areas that had peeled and had prior water damage. The patching is seamless. Our walls have never looked this good. They are true professionals and craftsmen. I will definitely have them back to do other rooms. Thank you for making this project a success!"

"Excellent company to have any painting and all household repairs done by. They have been doing any and all work in my home for six years. Indoor and outdoor painting and repairs etc. They pay attention to all detail at all times and have excellent suggestions as to the best way to make the repairs. Honest and most reasonable pricing on every job. Efficient and honorable and very time conscious. You will not find another company, that will give you excellent man power and customer service. I have had work done by other companies and there is simply no competition out there to even compare them with. Efficiency and great work ethics has always been part of their priority. C&S paint is by far the best."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

The longevity of paint on wood depends on factors like the quality of the paint, surface preparation, exposure to elements, and maintenance. Exterior paint on wood surfaces can last 5 to 15 years or more with proper care and maintenance. Interior paint tends to have a longer life span, often 10 years or more. Regular cleaning, touch-ups, and addressing any issues like peeling or cracking can extend the life of the paint.

You can paint over old paint on a concrete porch. For the best results, you should first clean the surface and remove as much paint as you can. A power washer is helpful here, but you’ll also want to scrape as much of the old paint away as possible. Then you should prime the porch before repainting it.

Avoid using cleaning products that are abrasive or contain bleach or acidic components on composite decking to avoid discoloration. Early-generation Trex decking isn’t designed to handle pressure washer cleaning—and if you use them on second-generation boards, always use a low setting to avoid the risk of damage that can risk voiding your warranty.

Wood stain is not flammable after it dries. The solvent in wood stain is what causes the liquid form to be highly flammable, but the stain drying process involves the solvents dissolving, which leaves behind a non-flammable product on your wood project. Wood stain is, however, flammable before you apply it, so you should always store partially full cans and used wood stain rags away from sources of heat and open flames.

It’s important to make sure the wood on a new deck is properly seasoned. Seasoning a deck is simple: Once you build it (or have a pro do so), just leave it alone so it can acclimate to the environment. If you don’t give the deck proper seasoning time before staining, the stain can lock in any lingering moisture and cause mold, rot, and other moisture issues down the road. Give the wood at least four to eight weeks to season before you stain.
