"Acadian to the rescue again! I have now used Acadian for a few houses over the years... well after installing a pool and poolside shed in my backyard, the logical choice was to go with a company that has been by my side for the past 10 years. Little did I know but the guys showed up to my house and educated me that not only did they have decorative glass but educated me that it needed to be safety glass because of the location on the shed! Thank goodness because I would have failed inspection without this knowledge. Thank you again for the professionalism, promptness and education. You have earned a customer for life!"

"Easy, peezy & beautiful. Tommy came out and measured everything. We talked about visual options for window trim color and whether I wanted the traditional block look. I checked out my neighbors & decided I like a clean, clear view. Tommy ordered the windows. Chip & Trevor installed them while I was at the gym. Yes, I trusted them. They were neat and efficient. ? Side note: be ready to clean afterwards. The dust from removing old windows is impressive. ? WARRANTY: There were some random specs between the glass of the BIG PICTURE WINDOW. Tommy came back to check it out. He called the manufacturer while at my house. 2 weeks later, the manufacturer's guys (very professional) installed a PERFECT picture window. I'm super happy to recommend Tommy's Windows for Baton Rouge, Prairieville and surrounding areas. ? P.S. The price was in my budget."

Glaziers questions, answered by experts

Generally, large bathroom mirrors that have been secured to the wall with glue require a multistep removal process. By taping the mirror with masking tape or duct tape, you can potentially prevent dangerous shards from falling as you loosen the mirror. A heat gun or other heat source may be needed to loosen up the glue before it can be freed using a wire saw. With glued-down mirrors being the most dangerous to remove, it's wise to hire a professional instead of handling glass on your own.

Installing glass block windows has benefits and disadvantages, as with most materials. The pros and cons can vary depending on the type of glass block and the window location.

Pros

  • Maintains privacy while letting light into the bathroom

  • Energy efficient

  • Sealed to prevent drafts

  • Aesthetically pleasing

  • Strong and secure

Cons

  • Costly to install

  • Challenging installation

  • Challenging repair

The size of your mirror depends on the size of your vanity and personal preference. Most people prefer a mirror that is 1 to 2 inches narrower than the width of their vanity, while others like a mirror that’s the same width as their vanity. Remember that the mirror should sit 5 to 10 inches above your faucet when choosing dimensions.

A common way to modernize arched windows is to install interior window treatments that allow light through the curved portion up to and let you cover the bottom portion for privacy. You can also install plantation shutters to make an arched window look more modern. From the exterior, arched windows can appear outdated if they’re coupled with ornate trim, so toning down the decor can make your window look more natural with a modern design.

While wavy glass is sometimes called antique glass or restoration glass due to the fact that it's found exclusively in older homes, the proper names for wavy glass are actually crown glass and cylinder glass. Most commonly used for circular or portal windows, crown glass was created by manufacturers using a process of blowing and spinning. Meanwhile, cylinder glass was used more commonly because it created large square sheets that could be shaped to fit windows of all shapes and sizes.
