They sent a subcontractor to install some vinyl laminate in my bathroom and he ended up getting glue all over the carpet in our bedroom. The sub ended up ghosting both me and Sentri, leaving me stuck with a ruined carpet. Sentri stuck with me for over a month to get the carpet replaced with the identical original and to get the vinyl job 100% completed. The carpet was a Home Depot exclusive and Sentri handled everything with them. Some may prefer wood oil to polyurethane because rather than creating a layer, it becomes part of the wood. Wood oil takes longer to dry, and is less resistant to wear and tear; however, it creates a natural-looking result by enhancing the grain of the wood.
Start the first row of vinyl planks along the longest or most visible wall in the room. This will create a clean, straight foundation row to build off of. Snap a chalk line to guide the first row, and use spacers for the most precise installation—these maintain an even extension gap between the flooring planks and the wall. Finally, double-check that the first row is level before moving on to the second row. If it’s not, start over and get it right before completing the rest of the floor.
Carpet tiles come with a preexisting adhesive backing, which means installing them is as simple as peeling off the paper and sticking them down where they need to go. In other words, no. You won’t need to purchase any separate glue to get your carpet squares situated. It’s already built into the carpet tile itself.
