At Mr. Appliance®, we believe that repairing the appliances in your home is only the very beginning of the job and while it is an important one, it is not everything we want to do. At our appliance repair franchise, we strive to deliver a superior service to all of our customers by taking the extra steps needed to fully protect their home. When you work with our team, you can trust that you will be working with expert technicians who take pride in the cleanliness of their work; that pride is reflected in how we treat you, as well as how we treat your home. For example, we bring our own doormat to the job and put on protective shoe covers before we enter.

We assemble furniture, exercise equipment, swing sets, & so much more! We can do change outs for new doorknobs, garbage disposals, light fixtures, fans, faucets, toilets, & more. Honey do's that you don't want to do yourself. \n\nI have been in business since 2019. But I have over 25+ years of assembling things. I was let go doing the massive layoff from Baker Hughes in 2015. I enjoyed assembling things, working with my hands. I decided to go into business for myself. \n\nOur small business only consists of my wife & I. I am from the Lafayette area. We enjoy meeting & helping those in need!\n\nWe have had many types of customers. From businesses around the Acadiana area, to single parents that don't have the time, to families that just have way too many things to do, to those that can't figure out how to read the crazy instructions! \n\nWe were ranked #1 on Nextdoor for the Lafayette area in assembly/handyman.

Fireplaces questions, answered by experts

Not all gas fireplaces need a chimney. If you install a ventless gas fireplace, it will release low levels of combustion byproducts back into your living space (instead of pushing them outside through a chimney or vent). Ventless fireplaces burn fuel efficiently, so the emissions are minimal—but they could bother people with allergies or respiratory issues.

A quality pellet stove that receives proper maintenance can last between 15 and 20 years, while most will last at least 10 years. The exact lifespan depends on factors like frequency of use and how well the stove is cared for. Proper maintenance—such as periodically cleaning the vents, vacuuming the ash pan, and refreshing the pellets as needed—can significantly extend its life, making it a worthwhile long-term investment.

Yes, masonry fireplaces require an adequately constructed chimney to vent smoke and gases.

Yes, you can operate an electric fireplace (and other types of fireplaces) without the remote. If you’ve misplaced the remote or are waiting for the replacement to arrive, you can still control the fireplace at the access panel. You can find the access panel near the firebox, typically located at the bottom or top of this section.

When your fireplace is not in use for longer periods of time, such as over the summer, you can keep smells at bay by spraying either a commercial fireplace deodorizing product or a blend of one part distilled white vinegar to one part water around the walls of the fireplace.

Or, you can place a container of charcoal inside the fireplace to absorb odors. Just be sure to remove it before it’s time to start using the fireplace again.
