The repair job on my entry way was done quickly and with high quality. The crew was professional and left the work area impeccably clean everyday. Communication from SES was provided through out the entire project . I will use SES again for any future home renovations and would recommend their service to others

  • Elliott Olson Woodworking & Construction
If you want a contractor that miscalculates, that demonstrates mediocre craftsmanship, that is poor at project management, that shoulder shrugs at your concerns, and that doesn’t take responsibility for their miscalculations then this is your guy. We hired him and his team to remodel a sunroom in the back of our house and overhangs our backyard. The first issue arose when we had a new roof installed at his sub-contractor’s suggestion (Garcia…of “Garcia did my roof”) and they didn’t complete the job. They left all of the soffit and tongue and groove pieces of the roof that needed to be replaced. Elliott as the main contractor and project manager of the remodel should’ve made sure this happened at the time, and he didn’t. Second issue arose when they installed the windows. Two other contractors that we were interviewing for a separate job, unprompted, told us to “have whoever installed your windows come back out and finish/fix the work”. Two! I mentioned this to Elliott who again just shoulder shrugged and said that they were fine. They aren’t. The third—but not last—issue was when they installed the paneled ceiling. Where they decided the cuts would go has it looking like a mishappened puzzle above us. I have never seen a paneled ceiling look so disjointed, and to add insult to injury the way he installed the light in the ceiling has the piece around it constantly falling out. It’s not fixed to the ceiling. The stain is also very uneven all over the ceiling. And lastly, we had the wood floor in the sunroom replaced with a beautiful tile. My husband asked him point blank if there would be an issue or if we would need to mitigate the supports of the sunroom in some way because of the extra weight, to which he replied “No, it should be fine”. Lo and behold, the extra weight mattered. The 80-year-old sunroom resettled on the pillars that hold it up. This caused some stress for the door that leads outside from the sunroom as well as stress on walls and issues with the integrity of the structure on the outside of the house. Elliott essentially 1) blamed our house for being old, 2) told us that our sunroom has always been sinking because it sits on concrete footings rather than into a deep foundation, 3) whoever it was that decided to build a sunroom in the first place. Blamed everything except the fact that he didn’t take into account the extra weight of the room when replacing the floor. We’ve lived here 10 years. I think we would’ve noticed the room sinking at the rate in which it resettled over the past 9 months. And speaking of it just being 9 months since he did the work…when we asked him to mitigate the fact that the door no longer closes, he acted like he was doing us this big favor to address something that he felt had nothing to do with the job he just did. We’ve always been able to open and close the door before the remodel, and now suddenly the door being unusable has nothing to do with him. Someone who less than a year ago installed the door and has now had to come out twice to adjust it. Contractors (all that I’ve worked with) warranty their work for at least a year, most for two years. I was asking nothing more than for him to fulfill his warranty. When he did finally get around to addressing the door, he reset it so sloppily, so crudely, so in NO way you’d ever expect someone that you paid to do a job to work on your house, that it feels like a “(fill in the blank) you, lady. We’re done.” If this is the type of work you come back with when you’re fulfilling your warranty, then you’re letting me know that you’d wish for me to never contact you again. When doing the work, he suggested that I get a second opinion on what should be done and also told me that this was the final time he would come out about the door. Did I mention that it’s been only 9 months?...So, he’s basically telling me that in no way does he intend to fulfill his warranty should we need him to in the next year. All that said, homeowner beware when considering Elliott for your renovations. And yes, we did get a second opinion

These people STOLE!! I originally met Clint Nunez after sending my home plans to three different contractors, Cain being one. They were the middle price so I decided to meet with Clint Nunez, owner. I told Clint what had happened to me ( my husband passed away that year suddenly, I was pregnant and had a 2 year old. I expressed to him this was our dream home, that we were also renting and I really needed this build completed start to finish move in ready within 6-8 months. He gave push back but ultimately promised a 9 month time frame. I paid every pay app, in the end paying 95% of my contract, to a home that was incomplete. I finally stopped paying and kicked them off the job(2 years in) (I signed the contract in October 2017, kicked them off around April 2019) got a contractor deficiency inspector out and he was mortified. Said everything that could be wrong was wrong. Change orders they charged for werent done, doors on backwards, no Hurricane clips, not the right support rafters in the attic, I had mold growing on my cabinets because the house was left opened to the elements for months. The front door wasn’t what was ordered, missing grout throughout the house and the list goes on. Then when I get a loan to complete my home (2 years later). I had liens for concrete, lumber and doors on my home. That they had been paid for!!! They completely robbed me and had no remorse. I hired an attorney, who tried to get them to come out and do what was right and they declined wanting MORE MONEY!!! Now I found out they just simply changed their name to Central City Millworks. Do not do any business with Clint Nunez no matter what the business name is! He is a horrible human being who robs people and get away with it by simply changing business names

Mendoza Construction did a superb job with my front porch addition. Each crew was specialized and did an amazing job. Jose came out each day to check on the progress and asked if everything was as I expected. Tweaking a little here and there was not a problem. I now have my dream front porch that looks like it has always been a part of the house

Two workers came on time and began working immediately. They finished in 2 1/2 hours (the patio was small), cleaned up whatever mess they made and left. We could not have asked for more and we are totally satisfied with how it looks.

The completed sunroom is beautiful and we are eager to entertain friends, family and business associates. The craftsmanship, product quality and customer service met all of our expectations. The nucleus of the company, Craig Ricks and his Office Manager, Robert Himmaugh along with Production Manager, Neil Howard also met and surpassed our expectations. They were readily available throughout the construction. Craig made several visits to our home throughout the entire process and was here when my husband and I gave the final "thumbs up". The Production Manager, Neil Howard brought samples of the windows and framing prior to us making the final decision to continue with the project. The entire company was determined that we would be happy with the final product. During the final phase of the construction, the Contractor, Will Dunn and all workers was also committed to making sure we were happy with the final construction. I have seen several jobs completed by Acadian Windows and Siding and each are equally well constructed

Acadian just made our backyard enjoyable again. We have horses behind our property and they cause terrible flies whenever we have a gathering. We used Acadian in the past and saw them at the recent Home Show in Superdome. I told them our problem and they recommended enclosing our porch with a sunroom. Well they finished yesterday and my wife and I couldn't be happier. Today I'm having a birthday party for my niece and boiling crawfish for about 20 people. Before getting this room there is NO WAY we could've done this without being malled by flies. The installers were great and Carey helped me change things around from the original design so when I add our pool in a few years things would make sense. I have Windows from floor to ceiling and big French doors so I can open for gatherings. Bottom line is anything I've called Acadian to do has gone excellent. It's one thing to pay someone for doing work. When you call Acadian you pay for a service and they all want to do the best for you and your family. I wish there was a way to upload pictures to Angie's list so you could see for yourself
