"I was very happy with J Will Plumb. They were able to come out day of to do a repair. He came prepared with what he expected he’d need so he didn’t have to leave to get the materials. And completed the repair quickly, thoroughly, and made sure everything was good before he left. The rate was very reasonable and provided upfront with no changes made afterwards. I will definitely use J Will Plumb again!"

"I had water showing up in a odd place in my floor, but the water wasn't on top of the floor it was under the wood flooring. They came out, found that the leak was actually coming from the bathroom located right in my hallway, and it had been leaking in the wall, which lead the water to run under the wood and accumulate in this place, and also under the washer. Which I had not noticed. They located the problem and fixed it, turns out it was coming from, my shower valve. They fixed it, and helped me get a mold remediation done ASAP. NOT ONLY WERE THEY EFFECTIVE, THEY WERE KIND, RESPECTFUL, and you couldn't even tell they had been there. They did the best they could to help me price wise, which I was so thankful for. They went above and beyond, and for that I will only use Reliable Plumbing, they were amazing."

Toilets questions, answered by experts

You should choose the type of toilet that meets your budget, fits properly in your space, and matches the rest of your decor. If you’ve never gone toilet shopping before, you might be surprised at how many options are available. Most homeowners choose a two-piece toilet, which is the industry standard, and a gravity flush system is the most common. However, dual-flush and low-flush toilets are becoming more prevalent as more people become conscious of water consumption.

A running toilet is not a plumbing emergency, but you will want to try some DIY fixes or call in a plumber to prevent wasting gallons of water. The three most common causes of a running toilet are a broken or dirty flapper, an incorrectly sized chain between the flush lever and flapper, or a float that is out of position.

Completing a full standard bathroom remodel offers the best value, with an average return on investment (ROI) of 70%. However, you don't need a full remodel to make an impact. To maximize value, focus on key components like flooring, the tub and shower, vanity, and cabinets. High-value upgrades include installing a walk-in shower, resurfacing a tub, retiling, or expanding the shower. For more budget-friendly options that still increase value, consider repainting with a light, neutral color, or updating the mirror and light fixtures. It's also crucial to address any necessary repairs, such as leaks, mold, or cracked tiles, as buyers will notice these issues. Avoid flashy upgrades like bathtub jets or steam showers, which don't add as much value.

Toilet handles can get stuck for a couple of reasons, but it’s commonly an issue with the chain. Remove the lid and check the chain’s connection, running from the flapper to the handle arm. Sometimes the chain gets snagged on or against another part of the tank.

The chain might not have the right tension. For example, a chain that’s too short can make the handle feel stuck. Check that there’s some slack in the chain. Old, worn-out flappers can get stuck, too. In this case, you’ll need to see which size toilet flapper you need.

According to the Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC), the distance between your trap and the vent should be no more than 6 feet. For your vent to work properly, it needs to feed into the drain line within 6 feet of trapways that connect to it. Using this formula, you should be able to determine whether you will need multiple vent lines.
