"

Mr. Landry was one of the easiest and responsive vendors we have worked with.  We purchased a new home in Baton Rouge, but live in Nevada.  Any vendor we contact has to co-ordinate with my daughter and daughter-in-law as well to get things done. Workmanship was excellent, downspouts drain appropriately, no gaps between gutter and roof. The courtyard doesn't flood when it rains! Scheduling was a breeze compared to another vendor. Price was mid-range for the estimates we received. Also, he pointed out a roofing problem that the builder needed to repair.   Just wish he handled Solara patio covers!!!

"Got another estimate as well. Asked for itemized list of work to be done. Roger detailed each process of the job with a thorough explanation. Other company gave a total cost only. When I asked what it included the salesman said, "everything". Roger and his crew arrived early each day and worked until evening. Our siding looks great and our house is better insulated. They removed old gutters and replaced them and replaced old gable louvers as well. All work that was promised in their quote was done included in the price. Finally, I was very impressed with Roger's organizational skills. Each morning he assigned tasks to his 3 additional workers and in the evening everyone cleaned up the job site. I'd highly recommend Roger McKinley and his crew."

"The owner of By the Specs Roofing Co. (Mr. Virgil) came out the same day I called and put a Blue Tarp on my roof where the shingles had came loose and fell to the ground. The next day Mr. Virgil sent a roofer to replace (2 squares)of shingles just before heavy rains came later that day. The job was done professionally and I would recommend this company to everyone."

Patio Covers questions, answered by experts

The average cost to build a pergola ranges from $2,200 to $6,400, whereas the average cost of an awning ranges from $1,400 to $4,400, meaning that an awning tends to be less expensive to build or install than a pergola. Ultimately, the less expensive option depends on a few factors, including size, quality of materials used, and location.

Metal awnings last much longer than fabric thanks to their durability and resistance to fading, sun damage, and damage from the outside elements. They also need less maintenance than fabric options. Both items add curb appeal to your home, but you shouldn't expect either type of awning to add property value to your home.

Creating a screen room is one of the most cost-effective ways to enclose a patio so you can still use it in the winter. Most screen rooms aren’t insulated, so you’ll need to wrap up warm or use patio heaters in winter. Also, be aware they might not hold up well if you live in a location where heavy snow is common.

Awnings are either fixed or retractable and can be paired with a variety of cover materials. Fixed awnings are a permanent outdoor feature of a building. These are highly durable and require ongoing maintenance. Once installed, the position of this awning cannot be changed.

Retractable awnings are more popular than fixed awnings since the cover can open and close. This allows homeowners to open and close the awning, depending on the weather. When not in use, it can be closed to allow for extra space.

There are many materials to choose from, including picket fencing, wood slats, galvanized metal skirting, dog-ear fence panels, scallop wood fence panels, bamboo screens, and other decorative screens. You can search for materials at local big box stores like Home Depot or scour online home improvement sites. Good search terms to use are fencing, skirting, and privacy panels.
