"They cleared the drain in no time! Without them, it would have been such a nightmare. Very reasonably priced, professional work, and superb customer service. Very nice to see them wearing masks in this pandemic too."

"I had a very good experience with this company. The service was fast and efficient and it was apparent that they were experienced and knew what they were doing. They have the equipment needed to diagnose your plumbing problem and show you proof as to why certain repairs are needed. Their prices are fair and reasonable. They made sure I was happy with the work they did before they left. If I ever need plumbing work done again in the future, it will definitely be Scottâ s Plumbing!"

"I cannot recommend Kvon and his team highly enough. They came on a holiday on semi short notice and moved an extremely heavy piano up a flight of stairs for me. They were professional and respectful in every single way. I have already recommended them to numerous friends and will continue to do so and in a weird way I’m excited to move again just to have their help yet again. With all that said Kvon and his team are pros and looking elsewhere for similar services would be a mistake. Do yourself a favor and stop your movers search and hire Kvon today."

French Drains questions, answered by experts

The best drain cleaners are biodegradable ones or a mixture of baking soda and vinegar. Strong, caustic chemicals may seem appealing with promises of unclogging your drain quickly, but liquid drain cleaners can cause damage to your pipes over time. Consider making your own drain cleaner with baking soda and vinegar.

Main sewer lines can clog for several reasons. For example, if you regularly dump oil or grease down your drain, it could eventually block your line. Sometimes, tree roots can penetrate and grow inside old sewer pipes, creating a major blockage. Flushing bulky items (like paper towels, diapers, or baby wipes) can also clog your plumbing system.

Never pour used motor oil down the drain. Doing so can have serious environmental consequences, including contaminating groundwater, endangering animals, and killing vegetation. It can also clog your pipes, causing backups in your plumbing or the wastewater treatment plant. In most places, pouring motor oil down the drain is illegal, whether you do it in your home or a storm drain.

If the drain is frozen, the pipes connecting to the washing machine are likely frozen. If the hot water trick doesn’t also unfreeze the washing machine pipes, you can gently apply heat with a hair dryer on the lowest setting. Start at the end of the pipe closest to the faucet to prevent pressure from building in the pipes, and make sure the faucet is open to drain the water as it melts.

DIY is not recommended due to safety risks and specialized equipment requirements. Hire professionals for effective clearing.
