THIS IS ONE OF OUR SINGLE FAMILY RENTAL PROPERTIES...  WE MANAGE 26 COMPANY OWNED PROPERTIES IN 4 PARISHES.  WE PAY ALL OF OUR BILLS ON TIME, WITHOUT EXCEPTION.  BUT WE ARE NOT IDIOTS.....
*** FIRST SERVICE CALL 12.29.2014 $250.00 TO CLEAN SEWER LINE.  AFTER THE SERVICE CALL THE DRAINS IN THE HOME DRAINED SLOWLY BUT THE TENANT TOLERATES IT.  THE PRICE WAS RIDICULOUS BUT WE PAID IT TO DEAL WITH PROBLEM DURING THE HOLIDAYS. THERE WAS NO MENTION OF WARRANTY ON INVOICE.
*** SECOND SERVICE CALL 4.30.2015 $210.00 TO CLEAN SEWER LINE.  SAME EXACT PROBLEM AS DECEMBER.  TOLD LINDA THAT THIS SHOULD NOT BE A RECURRING PROBLEM.  SHE SAID SHE ONLY PROVIDES A 12 DAY WARRANTY.  WENT AHEAD AND LET THEM SERVICE THE SEWER LINE AGAIN, $210.00.  AFTERWARDS, DRAINS IN HOME STILL SLOW BUT TENANT TOLERATES.
*** THIRD SERVICE CALL  5.19.2015 $250.00 TO CLEAN SEWER LINE.  ON 5.18.2015 3:30PM THE TENANT CALLED AND SAID SEWER WAS BACKING UP IN ALL FIXTURES IN THE HOME.  WE CALLED ALFRED'S AND WERE TOLD BY LINDA THEY WOULD SEND THE SAME PLUMBER OUT AND THAT THEY WOULD CALL OUR OFFICE BACK.  THEY DID NOT.  WE CALLED THEM 9 TIMES (EVENTUALLY TALKING TO THE ANSWERING SERVICE) AND ALL THEY WOULD SAY IS THAT THEY WERE TRYING TO REACH THE PLUMBER.  ULTIMATELY, NO PLUMBER WENT OUT THAT DAY.  THE NEXT MORNING LINDA CALLED CASUALLY TO SET AN APPOINTMENT.  FURIOUSLY I TOLD LINDA THAT WE HAD JUST PAID THE INVOICE FOR A SECOND SERVICE CALL FOR THE EXACT SAME THING.  THIS TIME SHE SAID THAT THERE WAS ONLY A 14 DAY WARRANTY ON THEIR WORK.  I TOLD HER THAT WAS NOT FAIR AND THAT THEIR PRICES AND CUSTOMER SERVICE WERE RIDICULOUS.  THEY SENT OUT A DIFFERENT PLUMBER.
THIS PLUMBER CLEANED OUT THE LINES AGAIN.  I SPOKE WITH HIM WHILE HE WAS ON THE JOB AND HE SAID THAT THERE ARE NO BROKEN LINES, TREE ROOTS OR FOREIGN OR ATYPICAL OBSTRUCTIONS AND THAT HE THOUGHT THAT THE PREVIOUS PLUMBER HAD PUSHED WHATEVER THE BLOCKAGE WAS ENOUGH TO GET IT TO FLOW BUT HAD NOT GOTTEN IT PAST THE MUNICIPAL TAP (CONNECTION POINT).  AGAIN, HE FOUND NO FOREIGN OBJECTS.  ONLY TYPICAL SEWER SLUDGE AND DEBRIS.
THE NEXT DAY WE WERE EMAILED AN INVOICE.  I PROMPTLY CALLED LINDA (THE APPOINTMENT SETTER AND COLLECTION CALLER, AND PROBABLY OWNER) AND TOLD HER THAT IT WAS ABSURD TO INVOICE ME AGAIN FOR WHAT THEY HAD DONE TWO WEEKS EARLIER.  SHE NOW SAID THE WARRANTY WAS ONLY 15 DAYS.  I TOLD HER THAT WE PROTEST THE  INVOICE.
7.21.2015 LINDA CALLED OUR OFFICE TO MAKE A COLLECTION CALL.  I ACCEPTED THAT CALL.  SHE SAID SHE WAS CALLING ABOUT AN UNPAID INVOICE.  I TOLD HER THAT I HAD ALREADY TOLD HER THAT WE WERE PROTESTING THE INVOICE AS UNFAIR.  SHE IMMEDIATELY STARTED HOLLERING AT ME ABOUT HER 15 DAY WARRANTY.   I TOLD HER THAT SHE CAN'T KEEP HER STORY STRAIGHT ABOUT THE WARRANTY, 12 DAYS, 14 DAYS, OR 15 DAYS.  I TOLD HER THAT WE ARE NOT AN UNSUSPECTING CONSUMER/HOMEOWNER AND THAT WE WERE NOT GOING TO BE FLEECED BY A PLUMBER.  SHE CONTINUED TO HOLLER AND SAID THAT THE CONVERSATION WAS OVER AND THAT SHE WAS GOING TO TURN US OVER TO COLLECTION.  THEN SHE HUNG UP ON ME.
I PROMPTLY CALLED BACK AND ASKED HER IF SHE HAD JUST HUNG UP ON ME....IN A SARCASTIC TONE SHE SAID "NO".  I TOLD HER THAT IF HER PLUMBER HAD DONE A THOROUGH JOB THE FIRST TIME, THIS PROBLEM WOULD NOT CONTINUE TO HAVE TO BE REVISITED.  SHE REFUSED TO DISCUSS IT ANY FURTHER AND SAID THE CONVERSATION WAS OVER.  SHE HUNG UP AGAIN.
IN SUMMARY..... I WOULD NEVER, EVER, EVER CALL THIS COMPANY TO DO ANY PLUMBING WORK ON YOUR PROPERTY.   JUST BECAUSE A SEWER LINE GOES FROM NOT DRAINING TO SLOWLY DRAINING DOESN'T MEAN THAT THE JOB IS DONE CORRECTLY.  IN MY OPINION, THE LAST PLUMBER SENT OUT WAS THE ONLY ONE WHO WAS COGNIZANT OF THE PROBLEM AND THE ONLY ONE TO FULLY ADDRESS IT.

I rang Alfred's at 11:30 on Monday morning and they immediately dispatched the very nice technician (Kevin). He arrived in 30 mins and had the job done in about an hour. He removed the toilet, "rooted" out the sewer line, and reinstalled the toilet. System works fine now. The bill was $200 + $50 call out fee.

I searched Angie's List after discovering the drains were blocked and saw Alfred's had an and quot;Aand quot; rating so I called. I spoke to a real person and didn't have to leave a message. The lady I spoke to assured me someone would be coming during the afternoon--I was a bit skeptical, but sure enough at about 3:00 p.m. I received a call from the technician who said he would be at my house in 15 minutes and he was. He went right to work, cleaned the main drain and cleaned up. Here is where the real character of this company comes in---after the tech left my wife washed clothes and everything was fine--shortly thereafter, we started the dishwasher and noticed the water had risen into the kitchen sink---I checked the plumbing underneath the sink and all was fine. It was now after 5:00 p.m. but I called and spoke to the and quot;answering serviceand quot; (a real person) and she said she would have the tech on call contact me---he did in less than 5 minutes. I explained the situation, but told him he could come first thing in the morning---they arrived about 9:15 and cleaned out the drain from the sink, he cleaned up and we had a cup of coffee. I highly recommend calling Alfred's for any plumbing needs you may have!

I had left messages for two other plumbers and never received a call. (Not even to this day!!) Scheduled a Roto-Rooter appointment on the internet, then was told they do not service my area any more by telephone. Very frustrating!!!! Decided to call Alfred's and got to talk to a real live person right away! She had someone available right then to come to my house. (Amazing considering it's a week before Christmas!). Had to call my daughter to go let him in, since I work 30 minutes away from home. He was there right away, did what he needed to do which made quite a mess I'm told. He did his best to clean up after himself also. I was very impressed with the service. The price was kind of high, but I think in line with what other plumbers charge. Will need more plumbing services in the future, since I have an older home and I need another bathroom re-done. I would definitely call them again.

Terrible. Ripped off. Wrote complaiant letter and few weeks later had to call. Alfred's just argued with me and offered no resolve. Should have their license revoked.
