"i decided to go with phil at optimize egs because they offered the best price and they were the only ones to offer to bury my gas line. the other companies were ok with the gas line being attached to the exterior wall. very unprofessional looking. lastly, their workers took pride in their work. to the point that before they left, one of the workers to the time to wipe down my generator and made sure it was clean looking. awesome company and would definitely do business with again"

Electrical questions, answered by experts

Electric bills tend to be lower in spring and fall because people use less electricity during these seasons. Milder temperatures allow for less use of heating and cooling, unlike during winter and summer, which usually bring more extreme temperatures.

If you are having trouble determining the right breaker size for your water heater, it is a great idea to contact an electrician near you to help. They can help you determine the best option for your home and install the circuit breaker for you, ensuring that you have all the proper permits and that your circuit breaker won’t overload, which could lead to fire and other damage.

Many homes have a 200-amp service, which requires a 2-inch electrical meter riser. Larger homes or homes that require more energy for several appliances and devices may have a 400-amp service. For 400-amp service, opt for a 4-inch electrical meter riser.

Tipping an electrician is not a requirement nor is it expected, as they build a fair wage into the price of the job. It’s up to your discretion. There are no set rules for tipping electricians, but if they did a great job and you’re so inclined to tip 10% to 15%, it will likely be received with thanks.

A GFCI outlet is a type of electrical outlet that monitors the electricity flowing through the circuit and shuts off power immediately when it detects a loss or acceleration of current. They are particularly important in areas that may come in contact with water, which is why they're most common in kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms, and garages.
