"Dan showed up on time and was very polite and appeared to be very knowledgeable. Early in the inspections he asked us if we planned to do any renovations and we said "yes." That is where things went wrong. Although he still did what seemed to be a thorough inspection he spent a lot of time going on and on and on about the evils of Fiberglass insulation and suggesting to us that we hire someone he knows to come out and do work to make sure no fibers were making it into the main part of the house. He was very slow getting the report back to us and when it did come it contained several pages again about the cancer causing properties of fiber glass. Its clear that he has a lot of passion and concern around the fact that people still broadly use something that could cause cancer but in my mind it crosses the line when he starts recommending people to come out and remove it - I would go so far as to cause that a conflict of interest for a home inspector. We have now moved into the house and have discovered that he missed some very basic things which we are now having to get fixed (dryer vent broken and clogged, oven door falling off, light switches not working) and on the other side he raised issues that did not exist such as telling us we had galvanized pipe when we do not. In the end there were al lot of valid items in the report but we are left with an unsettling feeling of being not exactly sure what we got. "
