"Great communication, excellent price and outstanding service. I dreaded repairing the water main like it was a trip to the dentist. If I would have known how painless it ended up being I would have done it much sooner and probably saved literally thousands!! Our first bill after the repair is $450 less than before. You cannot go wrong with Ivitts. I see why they were treated the best locally."

"As a retired widow, Advanced treated me like a good son treats his Mother. Other companies have tried to take advantage of me but Marty was professional and treated my home as if it was his own. I had a 3rd crack that had minimal water during heavy rains and a floor drain was next to it. Another company tried to sell me everything they could but Advanced stated if you could live with a little bit of seepage from the crack, the floor drain will take of it. I was happy to save the $. If you are in need of their services, call them as they are Inspectors not salespeople who care and I'll be referring them out whenever I can."

"Had previously contacted a business to give us a quote last November, and when we were ready to begin our project this summer, we could not get ahold of them again. Tried for two months and decided that was that. Contacted the Lawnfather and received an almost immediate response. They came out and did a quote within the week. Two weeks after that they came out and got the job done! And they did a great job!"

"They are professional and got the job done in a timely manner. The greatest thing about this company is there are never any callbacks for any issues, and they don't damage water lines or any electrical or duct in the process as has been the case with other foundation specialists. I use this company to work on foundations before I install ductwork or run lineset for my heating and air company. I will not accept jobs with foundation issues unless the homeowner lets me contract out this company. This sort of trust is the reason I had this company do my own home recently and I will continue to give them business and refer them to friends and family."

Foundation Drain Installation questions, answered by experts

Due to the nature of basements, some level of waterproofing is necessary to prevent water from seeping in and causing damage. Some definitive signs that your basement needs waterproofing measures or needs existing waterproofing measures need to be updated include:

  • Water in your basement, including damp walls or puddles on the floor

  • Mold spots in your basement

  • Musty smells or odors

  • Warped doors or walls

  • Cracks in walls

  • Insect issues, such as cockroaches and termites

Yes, it is generally unhealthy and can be dangerous to live in a damp basement. The damp air can negatively affect your breathing and lungs, and the moisture promotes mold growth and pest infestations. Inhaling mold spores or waste particles from insects and rodents attracted to the moisture can be hazardous. This damp, moldy air can also circulate into your main living area. It is crucial to resolve any moisture problems and implement preventative measures before using your basement as a living space.

The regulations around whether drain pipe installers need to hold licenses or certifications differ based on where you live and the type of drain pipe installed. Municipalities have varying rules and regulations about who can and can’t perform plumbing work. However, we recommend hiring a certified plumber to install or modify your drain lines. Licensed plumbers will perform a high-quality, professional installation, which translates to a lower risk of clogs and leaks in the future. Use Angi’s state licensing tool to confirm the license status of your potential plumber before hiring them to install your drain pipe.

Costs range from $2,000 to $7,000, depending on system type and excavation requirements.

Not all window wells have a formal drain, but they all require a method for water to flow away from the window. Some wells are connected to an interior or exterior drain tile, which is the most effective solution. Others rely on a deep layer of gravel or crushed stone that allows water to filter down into the soil.

However, if a window well lacks a proper drainage system, it can lead to basement seepage, costly water damage, mold growth, and potential foundation damage. This is especially true in areas with heavy rainfall or expansive soil.

If your window well doesn't have a drain or is not draining quickly enough, you have a few options. For gravel-based systems, the stone may have compacted and needs to be improved. For a more robust solution, you can hire a plumber or window installer to connect the well to a drainage system. This can also be a DIY project using a shovel or auger.
