Asbestos was confirmed and I had them remove. It appears when my home was being constructed they needed ~ 8 shims regarding the piers - apparently one of the subcontractors used pieces of shutters from an old home in his pickup bed. The builder was not aware of this and as advised me reimbursement would be received.
