"It went really well. Chester is a character and fun. He’s also reliable and performs exactly the work you hire him for. I enjoyed getting to know him and see this amazing pool form in the backyard. I’d highly recommend him to anyone."

I started the business in 1976 with my son and continue it today with my grandson using the same business location and phone number as on the day I started. I build what I consider to be high quality in-ground swimming pools at affordable prices. The construction time on normal in-ground swimming pools is three weeks in the summer when the weather is good. We try to never have more that two pools under construction at the same time so that we stay on the job till it is finished. We do all pools on a first come first serve basis. We do not require a deposit or advance when the contract is signed unless something is special in the contract. We do require a start payment and other scheduled payments as the job moves along to it;s finish. The customer holds ten percent of the contract price till the pool is finished and operating. We do not offer discounts except for late fall or next year projects. We have a published price list for standard pools and make this available to all who request it. We also offer free site evaluations and and price quotes. We will also provide you with a short list of our customers should you wish to contact some of them. You may request literature on our pools by phone (859/873-9302) or by EMAIL ([email protected]. The phone also rings into my home so you can call most any time. Should you want to talk to me please call late or leave your number or you can EMAIL with your questions. One tip for all of you who have not owned a pool; talk to as many people who do own a pool and ask them questions. If you decide on a pool and a builder, talk to some of the customers of the builder and ask their opinion of the builder. Better yet, Get on Angies List and read the comments.

Pool and Spa Servicing questions, answered by experts

Yes, they provide full-service inspections, identifying and resolving any potential equipment problems.

You can drain a hot tub very quickly by using a submersible pump rather than the hose-sized drain at the bottom exterior of the tub. A pump can move up to 30 gallons per minute, draining your hot tub in no time. Using the regular drain can take up to two hours.

Most hot tubs use between 1,500 watts and 6,000 watts of electricity, depending on the voltage of your heater. 120-volt heaters tip toward the low end, and 240-volt heaters tip toward the high end. Expect your pump to add another 1,500 watts. Newer, energy-efficient models use less electricity, while older models use more.

Hot tub repairs cost between $200 and $500 on average. You can minimize those costs by maintaining your hot tub and keeping necessary supplies on hand. An elevated shelf in the garage is a great place to store your water care chemicals so that kids and pets will stay safe and you’ll always have them around.

Your hot tub should be drained of existing water, cleaned, and refilled every three to four months at a minimum. Follow your tub manufacturer’s recommendations for cleaning, and rinse thoroughly when finished to eliminate any residue from the cleaning products. This is also a good time to inspect your tub’s cover in good lighting for any leaks, tears, or other damage that might cause problems.

Using your hot tub manufacturer’s suggested cleaners and methods, keep your hot tub filters clean to avoid a loss of water heat. This will help extend the filter’s useful life and efficiency. If the filter is more than two to three years old, replace it with a new one and buy a second filter to keep around as a spare.

To refill a hot tub after winter, start by opening up the tub and giving it a quick cleaning. If you use antifreeze, drain out the water then grab a hose and thoroughly clean the tub shell out, spraying water into each jet of the tub.

Reconnect the hot tub and turn the power back on. When it’s time to fill the tub again, insert the hose into the filter well (if available). Avoid trapping too much air in the water lines, which can cause the pump to lock up when it starts again. Add the necessary chemicals and start the heating process. It will take some time—most of a full day—for the water to heat up again.
