"Excellent. This experience was the best I have had hiring outside help. After it was installed, I had some concerns and asked Aaron to come by. He came over on a Friday evening and to my surprise, agreed and quickly went above and beyond to remedy the situation. He was understanding and agreed with my concerns. Later I was worried about a sound I was hearing coming from the sump pump. He came up on a Sunday and turned out it was my old pump (not the new one they had installed) that was making the noise. He removed it and clearly explained why it was making the noise. The perimeter drain, pump, and dry well that they installed have all worked great since the installation, which was nearly 9 months ago now. It was very clear making sure a job was completed well and with integrity was important to him. It was comforting to know I was working with a company who valued customer service and doing a job well. Their prices were more reasonable than the 3 other companies I had estimates from. I would definitely use them if needed in the future."

"They just finished the work last week. They did a great job. There was no problem. I hired them at the end of September. They told me at the time that they had a big project coming up so it might be a few weeks. They did a great work, but we will see after it rains one time. They canceled on me one day saying that because it was raining. They were very responsive. I didn't have any problem other than the cancelling."

Structural Engineering questions, answered by experts

Louisville homes showing signs like stair-step foundation cracks, sloping floors, or doors that stick—especially after heavy rain—are strong candidates for structural engineering projects. Properties in flood-prone neighborhoods, near the Ohio River, or built before updated building codes may benefit from a professional assessment. If your home has a stone or brick foundation, common in older Louisville neighborhoods, a structural review is especially important.

Helpful?

Completing structural engineering projects in Louisville can significantly enhance your home’s value and resale appeal. Foundation repairs, basement waterproofing, and drainage improvements are highly sought after due to local soil and weather conditions. These upgrades not only attract buyers but can also help lower insurance premiums and provide peace of mind, making your property stand out in Louisville’s competitive real estate market.

Helpful?

For Louisville, prioritize engineered concrete with vapor barriers for foundations to combat moisture and clay soil movement. Use galvanized steel or pressure-treated lumber for framing to resist humidity and corrosion. Helical piers are ideal for unstable soils, while fiber cement siding and composite decking handle temperature swings. Incorporate French drains and impact-resistant roofing to address drainage and storm protection, both critical for Louisville homes.

Helpful?

In Louisville, structural engineering projects must address hot, humid summers, moderate winters with occasional ice storms, and frequent heavy rainfall. The city’s clay-rich soils can expand and contract, impacting foundation stability. Tornado risks and periodic flooding require enhanced wind resistance and effective drainage solutions, while high humidity increases the need for moisture control and corrosion-resistant materials to ensure long-term durability.

Helpful?

Combining structural engineering with other upgrades in Louisville is often efficient and cost-effective. For example, scheduling foundation repairs alongside basement waterproofing or drainage system installation can minimize disruptions and streamline permits. Coordinating structural work with energy-efficient window or insulation upgrades is especially beneficial in Louisville’s variable climate, helping you address moisture, temperature, and storm risks while maximizing your investment.
