"Online estimate was efficient and accurate. All the phone follow-up was pleasant. Andrew and his crew did an excellent job moving our things, handling all items carefully, and moving in an efficient manner. The costs were straightforward and transparent. Showed up on time, and every person was pleasant and easy to deal with. I would highly recommend LEADERS!"

"It went wonderful from start to finish. The owner was at my home 5 minutes after I called to look at each room and give me an estimate and the crew was there in 2 hrs. They did a very professional job as well as being very careful with all items and extremely courteous. I had a most unpleasant experience with movers the previous day but Eagle saved the day for me ! I’d hire them again in a heartbeat !!"

"Amazing crew!!! I've done a lot of moving over the years and this had to be one the easiest, stress free moves. They were thorough, safe, clean and on time. They moved things quickly and took great care to make sure everything was wrapped properly. I would absolutely use this company again for any future needs!!!"

Moving questions, answered by experts

To make sure that your moving quote is fair, check current prices for hiring movers in your area. Your starting and final locations can affect the price. You should also make sure you include the cost of any specialty movers in your price estimate. Calculate your moving costs including the estimated expense of moving services and compare the figure to average costs in your area.

Yes, you can take your potted plants with you when you move if you use sterilized potting soil. However, some states have strict guidelines about this practice, so it’s best to consult the Department of Agriculture’s regulations surrounding pest control and plant types ahead of your move.

While your movers focus on packing and transporting your belongings, you can focus on other parts of your move, such as preparing children and pets to move or cleaning rooms as they’re emptied. You’ll need to be onsite as your movers pack or unpack your stuff, and can help direct movers to where items should go if they need help. Additionally, if there are certain items you’d prefer to move yourself, such as valuables or sentimental items, focus on packing those things and taking them with you during your move.

Knowing how much a typical long-distance move will cost is the first step in the budgeting process. Start by calling at least three local moving companies for quotes so you have a ballpark range—then you can start saving weekly. You can also start decluttering your home to reduce your truck weight and try to find donated packing supplies from local businesses or neighbors that recently moved.

To pack mugs safely for a move, start by lining the bottom of your moving box with padded material like bubble wrap. Wrap each mug individually; for a snug fit, you can tuck the ends of the bubble wrap sheet inside the mug. Place the wrapped mugs in the box, using a box with slots for extra separation if available. The key to preventing breakage is to pack the box tightly enough that the mugs cannot shift during transit. Fill any empty gaps with additional packing material. However, be careful not to pack more than 10 mugs in one box, as it can become too heavy to carry safely. Finally, be sure to label the box as “fragile” to alert movers to handle it with care.
