"I first met Santos Velasquez when we requested a quote for creating an apartment from a garage.  He was very professional and arrived on schedule.  It was a large project, building a barn to replace the garage space, and creating a one bedroom apartment in it's place.  He took pictures and notes.  Santos called within a few days and recommended we involve an architect and scheduled a time to meet her.  Again, they arrived on time.  Shari Mullins, with pillar3, agreed to make some drawings.   These proved to be exactly what we wanted! The process was not speedy.  We discovered the septic system needed to be replaced and the plumbing system was dissolving.  We decided to add a bathroom and a closet to the room above the garage.  Santos and Shari worked together, finding the right specialists and contractors, keeping the permits on schedule and the work moving forward. They were professional.  They always responded quickly to calls, texts and emails.  They were always here when they said they would be here.  They listened to concerns and addressed them immediately, willing to make adjustments and improvements as needed.  They put an effort into finding the best quality materials we could afford.  They kept the contractors on schedule and handled any disputes.  We didn't have to worry about anything.  It took about a year, but we love the results and have no regrets!  It did cost more than expected due to pre-existing conditions and upgrade decisions. Santos and Shari both take great pride in their work and I would recommend them for any project, both personal and commercial. Small jobs welcome

"Mark Owens gutted and remodeled our master bath. He replaced lighting in our home. Did some painting. Did numerous small jobs for us. We have always been satisfied with his work. Professional, friendly and completely trustworthy. We have been using his services off and on for 5 years. One of our sons also uses his services. I don’t think there is much Mark Owens can’t do. 5 Stars!!"

"Over a period of approximately 3 weeks, water-damaged, drop ceiling tiles, drywall/insulation and carpeting was removed from a basement bedroom following a leak in a water pipe in the ceiling. They treated the studs to remove mold and left a dehumidifier/ large fans to dry out the studs and floor.
Installed new insulation and drywall, new ceiling tiles, then painted entire room. Carpet was re-installed in the bedroom and stairwell so carpet would match throughout.
The work performed was excellent and personnel were courteous. Besides having some issues with the personnel arriving when scheduled to arrive, we were very satisfied with the whole experience.

Backsplash Installation questions, answered by experts

As long as you follow the instructions on your peel-and-stick tile packaging, it should not damage your walls. A possible instance when you may accidentally damage your walls is if you install tiles improperly using additional adhesives that aren’t recommended.

Also, you can damage your walls if you’re not careful when removing tile. For example, you could accidentally make holes in the drywall with a paint scraper if you don’t heat the adhesive long enough before trying to pry it off.

Yes, you can tile a shower as a DIY project, and you can save hundreds of dollars in labor costs by doing so. However, you’ll need to rent or buy quite a few tools and supplies for the job, including a saw, tile nippers, and a new shower pan. In terms of the work itself, you should be prepared to tackle a variety of different tasks, including measuring and ordering materials, removing old tile, waterproofing the wall, adding rows of tile, grouting, and more.

Tile—specifically smaller, mosaic-style tiles—is the best type of flooring for building a walk-in shower base. Shower pans come with a threshold and sidewalls to contain the water, but tile can be set into the shower base. This creates a walk-in shower floor that gently slopes toward the drain to keep water from getting out and into the rest of the bathroom.

You can attach tiles to a wall using thin-set mortar. You’ll also need a notched trowel to create grooves within the adhesive so it flattens completely when pressed in and securely holds the wall tiles. Finally, you’ll need grout to smooth the gaps between the tiles and, ideally, a grout sealer to prevent mold. While it sounds simple enough, proper planning and execution are crucial, so carefully review the steps in this guide or hire a pro tile installer to complete this project.

Yes, but you should only put tile directly on drywall in smaller areas that don’t experience excess moisture. For example, a small kitchen tile backsplash could work, but installing tile directly on the drywall in a bathroom or other chronically damp area is not a good idea. Either way, a cement backer board is a far more reliable solution, as drywall is susceptible to moisture and can warp or cause your tiles to crack.
