"J&S Painting has a wonderful, hardworking crew that knows how to get the job done. We had 2 rooms and 3 bathrooms painted along with trim and they did a phenomenal job. We allowed them to use their professional judgement to give us suggestions on what would look be in the home. They were spot on. They were very professional and genuine people from the estimate until the completion of the job. I highly recommend their work for any painting needs."

"Excellent. We were very pleased with Cindy's work. She was very friendly and kept us in the loop with the progress of the project. She also offered helpful tips on best ways to finish the painting of the bathroom walls, which we did ourselves. She cleaned up after herself. We would definitely recommend her to others."

"We were very pleased with Jose and his crew! We had some 1960’s wallpaper that was installed over unfinished drywall, it was impossible to get off, so Jose and his crew were able to put two skim coats of drywall mud over it to cover it up. They sanded it and primed it and everything looks amazing!! They arrived promptly and cleaned up after themselves. I would definitely recommend them for any kind of drywall repair job!"

"Angel and his team did a great job of staining the deck. The cost was very competitive and the turn around time was faster than expected (about 10days from proposal). The work was done in a careful manner to ensure no stain got to where the deck attached to the house. The work was also done in a quality manner. We are very happy with the results and would highly recommend this company to others."

Wallpapering questions, answered by experts

Many types of wallpaper exist, from removable peel-and-stick options to more permanent options that involve pasting. You can also find wallpaper that you can paint over, wallpaper with a texture, and wallpaper made from various materials, such as vinyl. Some types of wallpaper are washable, which can be a great option for kitchens or if your household has small children.

If you need a stronger magnetic surface, or you need to use a different type of paint in the room (like waterproof paint in a damp basement), there are other accessible options. You could fit a steel panel over the wall, try magnetic wallpaper, or apply chalk paint instead.

If you want an inexpensive shortcut, hang a pinboard or chalkboard on your wall. These removable options are ideal if you’re a renter who can’t repaint or plan to move in the near future.

No. If you overlap seams, the wallpaper will not come out flat. In addition to possibly throwing off your pattern match between rolls, overlapping seems necessary. If wallpaper is properly acclimated, and temperature and moisture conditions are optimal during installation, there is no reason to fear shrinkage as it dries.

To determine how many rolls of peel-and-stick wallpaper you need, measure the square footage of the walls you’re covering and divide that by the square footage that each roll covers. Add 10% to 20% of your total square footage to account for pattern matching or damage while installing.

Both paint and wallpaper can work in a bathroom, provided you choose high-quality products in either category. Washable vinyl wallpapers can stand up to bathroom humidity without peeling, as can semi-gloss or gloss paint finishes. However, if you’re someone who likes to redecorate often, paint may make it easier to change colors or designs more quickly. If you want full humidity protection and cleanability, tile or stone works better.
