"Mike came out to look at my attic and to write a proposal for spraying foam on the inside deck of my roof. Mike was punctual and professional. I sensed that he knew what he was doing when he crawled around an attic that is hard to get to because of vaulted ceilings.  He explained how the spraying would be done and what the chemicals would be. He explained that in areas where he could not reach, he would construct a dam to seal off conditioned spaces from unconditioned spaces. He also explained that I would have to vacate the premises for a minimum of 24 hours because of the off-gas from the chemicals and that he would place heavy duty fans in the house to get air circulating.  His proposal was very detailed and the price was very good. I had gotten an estimate from another company that was $1000 more than Louisville Spray Foam.  I decided not to do spray foam because of personal concerns about the chemicals and the price, while lower than another company, was higher than other types of insulation. If I were doing new construction, I would definitely have Louisville Spray Foam spray and "envelope" around the house.

"We were very pleased with the work that Parsons did for us. Bill Parsons came and told us about their services. He explained the product they would be using for the insulation. Both Bill and the installers were courteous and friendly. The installation went smoothly. I would recommend Parsons to my friends for work they need done. I would also seriously consider them for future projects."

"AMERICRAWL BASEMENT SOLUTIONS - Basement Waterproofing

Price was competitive.
He had the best price.
Our neighbor had used them before, so that will be a factor in who we choose for the job."

"Roberto was the technician and he was very professional, polite, and personable. He inspected the rest of our system and told us things that needed to be changed or repaired. He showed me pictures of everything. Everything he told me about was accurate. He quoted me a price for R38 insulation , Some of our ducts were plastic and he recommended them to be changed. I agreed completely and didn't know they were plastic. I would have had them done the work but I had no price comparisons to make and besides I didn't have the money right then. So he just finished the vent cleaning and left his card. He did a great job on the vent cleaning and was happy with the work."

"We chose 5 roofing contractors from Angie's List. When they came to give us an estimate we told them that price was not our only criteria, we wanted a quality job. Honestly they all seemed fine except for one thing or another. For example , in 1 estimate the gutter had a grater type screen, I didn't like it. Another estimate the contractor did his math wrong and his estimate was half of everyone else. I think they would have been fine but.... In the end we chose Beams because of Brad Rigney. He came and gave an estimate and nailed down a shingle on the house next door for us, the estimate was competitive with the others and frankly Brad impressed us both. When the work crew showed up Brad was there to introduce us to the work foreman Ceasar and showed him specifics like the trim we needed replaced and that we were keeping our down spouts. Then the crew went to work and removed our old roof and laid down some sort of under roof that was waterproof and insulated. (I worried about rain noise. If you've ever been in a barn during a rain storm you know the noise can be deafening.) anyway, the next day they put the roof on and that evening we had a rain storm, no noise, not a whisper. So they came ,they roofed, they cleaned up and a few days later(weather delay) the gutter sub-contractors came and within 2-3 hours had the new gutters on. Thru it all Brad kept in touch and on top of everything. One small snafu, the preliminary contract called for 5" white gutters, however by the final contract I wanted 6" green gutters to match our new metal roof. When the gutter contractors came , they had run out 25' of 5" white gutters. When we told them it wasn't correct they called Brad he talked to them and they said they would be back tomorrow with the right product. And they were, no fuss no muss no anger just kinda oops our bad. I have hated dealing with contractors in the past. ( we've all been through it ) With Brad as Beams representative we were in excellent hands. I only gave Beams a B on price because it wasn't the cheapest estimate, but I do believe it was the best and I would recommend them to anyone. the whole experience was hassle free and how many times can you say that about a contractor that has worked on your home."

"I can't say enough good things! Mike was great to work with. He worked with the insurance company and their inspector to come to a reasonable reimbursed amount, such that I only paid my deductible. His communication was straightforward and was always true to his word with follow-thru. The crew completed the job in a just over a day, was courteous, and cleaned up to my expectations. Mike kept in communication with them during the day of repair to problem solve any issues (as a few came up with an old house,)   and was onsite as needed. I was concerned about congestion and noise is a very dense neighborhood, but they managed the job without any difficulty despite my neighbor's roofs being practically in contact with mine.
I'd highly recommend!

Insulation questions, answered by experts

Periodic checks for moisture or pest issues ensure consistent performance.

The amount of insulation you need will vary depending on where you live. Energy Star recommends certain minimum insulation values in different geographic regions. In most cases, however, even adding a little insulation is better than not adding any.

Regular inspections for moisture damage, pest infestations, and proper R-value performance help maintain efficiency.

Cellulose insulation is usually made from recycled paper products, such as old newspapers, but cellulose might also contain recycled denim. While most homeowners traditionally buy cellulose insulation to use for installation, it is possible to make your own at home with old newspapers, cardboard, a paper shredder, and boric acid (important for fireproofing your cellulose insulation materials).

A vapor barrier keeps moisture out of the crawl space, while insulation reduces the amount of unconditioned air—and sometimes moisture—that enters the space. Coupling a vapor barrier with insulation can help prevent humidity and related moisture damage in a crawl space while also making your home more energy-efficient. Just be sure to use insulation that won’t get damaged from moisture, like rigid foam board or expanding spray foam insulation.
