"When we bought our current home in 1993, there was significant water leakage in our basement, any time it rained more than a little bit. The problem turned out to be a gaping crack that ran almost the whole length of one of the concrete foundation walls which had been hidden behind paneling installed by the previous owner. They repaired the crack, sealed the outside of the wall, installed drainage tile outside as well as under the basement floor, and installed a sump pump to catch and remove any water caught by the drains. Since then, there has been absolutely no water in our basement. In all that time we have had only one problem with the pump -- the power cord got chewed by an animal that managed to find its way into our basement. Everdry came out to service it and replaced the whole pump with a new one at no charge. I was impressed with the speed of their response and their willingness to upgrade the pump rather than just patch the cord."
