"Great move. Communication leading up to the day was good, and the crew was fantastic. They were hard-working, quick, efficient, and very careful with all our stuff. They were also friendly, professional, and eager to ensure that we were happy with where everything wound up in the new place. We were moving out of a two-bedroom home and also made a stop to clear out our storage unit. The whole process took just over three hours. Definitely money well spent. I've worked with a lot of movers, both for personal moves and when needing extra hands for big projects at work, and these guys were among some of the best I've seen."

"Fast, easy, and professional. Definitely recommending to anyone moving to the area. Other moving companies dropped the ball and kept cancelling so we needed something and fast! One call and we got it all squared away with a reasonable appointment time and price. The owner personally came out and made sure that we got the best rate and the best service. Cannot brag on this company enough!!"

Moving FAQs, answered by experts

Tipping movers is not mandatory, and most professional companies do not expect it. However, it is a common way to show appreciation for their hard work and the care they take with your belongings and home. A standard tip is between 10% and 20% of your total bill, split among the crew, or about $10 per mover per hour, tipped individually. It's an especially good idea to tip if the movers work in difficult weather, handle specialty items like pianos or pool tables, provide extra packing services, or go above and beyond your expectations.

Moving insurance helps protect your belongings from damage or loss during the moving process. This policy can help reimburse you either part of or the total amount of your belongings that become damaged during the moving process. Moving insurance has three main options: full value protection, released value protection, and third-party or separate liability coverage. Speak with your moving company to determine what is covered under each policy and their cost to determine the best fit for your needs.

There are generally three ways to ship furniture to another state: hiring professional movers, using consolidated freight, or through parcel shipping. Professional movers will generally pack your boxes in a truck and transport them to a storage facility or directly to your home.

A consolidated freight service will pack, load, and ship your items, but this is best to use for one or two pieces since your items will take longer to be delivered and will share truck space with other items. Parcel shipping such as UPS and FedEx is best for smaller items since there are size limits, and you’ll have to drop the boxes off at a local branch.

Around half of Americans hire professional movers, while the other half DIY their moves.

Up to a point, you can change your mind about moving into a new apartment. But once you’ve signed a lease, you are under certain obligations that can make changing your mind very expensive, at the very least. That’s one reason it’s important to do a walkthrough and to read all documents carefully before signing.
