"I hired Jeff due to his outstanding reviews on Angieâ s list. We could not have been happier with his work! He cleaned two upholstered chairs that were in great need and they almost look brand new. He also cleaned the carpet on our stairs and an oriental rug in our family room. I will definitely be hiring him again and highly recommend him !"

"We have worked with Champions Flooring LLC on several remodeling projects, and they have consistently delivered excellent-quality work. They have installed flooring and carpet in multiple homes for us, always with professional results and great attention to detail. They are reliable, punctual, and easy to work with, which is very important when managing multiple renovation projects. We definitely recommend them and will continue working with them on future jobs."

"Nancy had excellent communications with me and was punctual and professional. She got some horrible stains off my carpet and worked hard to leave the carpet in great condition. She even allowed me to add on some soiled throw rugs at the last minute!"

"Caleb was very knowledgeable and professional. The carpet looks beautiful and days later still has a pleasant scent each time I enter the room. I will call them again next year. Thank you, Debbie B."

"The sales guy seemed pretty new and there was a point that he called his supervisor and the call was on speaker and seemed staged. The supervisor was very degrading and spoke very condescendingly to the salesman and it really put a bad taste in our mouth. The carpet installers seemed good though"

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

In most cases, you do not need to put padding or underlayment under carpet tiles. Unlike traditional carpet, which requires a separate pad, carpet tiles are designed to be installed directly onto a firm subfloor like plywood, concrete, or tile. Many carpet tiles come with a built-in underlay and attach with peel-and-stick adhesive, double-sided carpet tape, or glue. For a more comfortable, cushioned feel, especially in residential settings, you can opt for padded carpet tiles that have a thicker underlay attached. While it's generally not recommended to install a separate pad, a compact underlayment might be used in some situations, though this typically requires professional installation. An acoustic underlay may also be considered in commercial spaces or multi-level homes where noise reduction is a priority.

It's best to wait until the newly installed carpet has fully settled and dried before moving furniture back into the room. Your carpet installation professionals can provide guidance on the recommended wait time based on factors such as the type of carpet and adhesive used. Moving furniture back in too soon could damage the carpet or affect its adherence to the floor.

Installing carpet padding is mostly a matter of measuring the room and cutting the carpet pad to size with a utility knife. You can save some money on carpet installation costs by doing it yourself. Before installing the carpet padding, you should install the tack strips around the room’s perimeter and prepare the subfloor by cleaning and making any necessary repairs. Then, unroll the carpet pad and cut sections as needed. Staple the carpet pad to the subfloor along the edges, leaving the tack strips exposed.

Avoid placing carpet in the bathroom or the kitchen. After all, moisture is no friend to carpeting. Beyond that, it’s down to personal preference. Some people dislike when a garage or basement features carpet, but others enjoy it.

Berber is a loop pile carpet known for its strength, durability, and distinct looped look. It can be made from a number of different carpet materials, including nylon and wool. However, Berber isn’t as soft as cut pile carpet, so it isn’t the best carpet for a bedroom (although it’s a good style of carpet for living rooms).

With that said, if you really like the look of Berber, you can still install it in your bedroom—it just might not be as comfortable on your feet as cut pile carpeting.
