Small jobs welcome

"Went quicker than expected. Job was done in one day. Install was a neat clean job. Only complaint is that the old cast iron pipe was supposed to be stacked neatly along the crawl space wall but was left just moved over to allow space for the new pipe"

"My mother is 84years old and the house is very old, The pervious company was outrageous and was not honest with the estimate. Emergency Drain Cleaning completed the job for half the money. They did clean the mess with towels and all of the drain in the home. Perfect for quick services and step by step explanation on what was being repaired. RECOMMEND FOR ANYONE"

"I had very bad Grayest water that would come from my Shower & Tub whenever l turn on my faucet and it left my tub dirty looking with Greasy black strains, l got Hahn number from a Good friend and gave his number to another friend we both love his work very Professional and did a very Good job. Not only did he fix my Shower problem with the dirty Greasy water, but he fix my bathtub nozzle from dripping all day and night the seal was broken and he replace it ,so very grateful cause my water bill was getting so high each month with the constant dripping, and also call him back to unplugged an old water filter from under my sink, he took out the old one and connected it back to the sink, now l can get filter water from my New refrigerator and ice maker. A Great Big Thank you Mr. Herbert Hahn for a job well done, and if l have anymore project that need to be done l will surely call him. Great Job. Herbert Hahn"

Sewer Cleaning questions, answered by experts

A sewer line should be cleaned at least once every 18 to 22 months. The process takes about 30 minutes or up to 5 hours, depending on the size of the line, how easy it is to access, and how long it’s been since the previous cleaning. If your sewer line hasn’t been cleaned in a couple of years or you don’t even know the last time it’s been cleaned, it’s time to call a pro.

Toilet paper is the only material that you should flush down toilets. Other items like wipes, paper towels, feminine hygiene products, dental floss, and medications should be disposed of in the trash. Flushing these items can lead to plumbing issues and damage to sewage systems. Grease and cooking oils should also be avoided as they can solidify in pipes, causing blockages. Proper disposal helps prevent clogs and ensures the efficient operation of wastewater treatment systems while protecting the environment.

You could be smelling sewer gas in your kitchen because of a dry P-trap, clogged vent pipe, or leaking plumbing seals. If you smell a rotten egg odor, check your sink’s P-trap and plumbing connections first. A clogged or damaged vent pipe can trap sewer gas and push it back into your kitchen through the plumbing pipes. Loose or deteriorated seals around drainpipes can also allow sewer gas to leak out. If you can’t find the source, call a local plumber for expert help.

There are a few things that can happen to your sewer system if you don’t fix it. These include rainwater entering it and causing rust and corrosion, dirt and debris leading to blockages, small animals getting stuck inside and clogging your sewer line or entering your home, and shortening the sewer system’s life span.

Without a cap, nothing prevents toxic and non-toxic gasses like methane and hydrogen sulfide from slowly escaping your sewer system and entering your home and the surrounding atmosphere, resulting in a foul sewer odor throughout your house.

A sewer cleanout typically looks like a white or gray PVC pipe with a removable cap. It's often located either in your yard or basement, depending on your home's plumbing configuration. The cleanout pipe is designed to provide easy access to your sewer system for maintenance and inspections. It may be flush with the ground or slightly elevated, making it distinguishable from other pipes. When you remove the cap, you can access the sewer line directly or determine its direction, which can be helpful when you need to locate your sewer line from your house to the street.
