"Junk King is a great company. Their prices are very reasonable. Hector and Dominic gave me an estimate that was way lower than I thought it would be. They were awesome and went above and beyond. I had an old riding mower, a large storage bin and some large outside tools that needed to be disposed of. Moving that mower was tough work and they got it done. When they went behind the shed to get the large tools that needed to be thrown away Hector noticed that behind that there were a lot of small trees that needed to be cut down and offered to do it because he did not want me to have to go back there and have to deal with getting scratched and scraped. Talk about being kind and going above and beyond. They were great. It’s so nice to know you get good service for your money from Junk King and truly good guys doing great work!!! If I could give them 10 stars I would.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"

Hauling questions, answered by experts

When scrap tires are properly recycled, they are often shredded into small pieces. This way, the materials within can be separated and used to manufacture various new products. This includes fuel, playground surfaces, sports fields, rubberized asphalt, mats, flooring, and filler for new tires. Some tires still end up in landfills, but this practice is becoming less common.

There are a number of factors that make an item difficult to recycle, but it often comes down to mixed materials. Any item you can’t leave on your curb for recycling pickup is likely considered an item difficult to recycle. Common examples of items considered difficult and require special handling or other recycling arrangements are tires, appliances using freon, batteries, and compact fluorescent lightbulbs (CFLs).

If you have a construction company on-site carrying out demolition or construction, the company will often include language in your contract about who is responsible for post-construction cleanup and brick disposal. If you’re responsible, you’ll have to hire a junk removal company or haul the material to a local recycling facility yourself. Double-check your contract before signing to see which party is responsible.

If you have a considerable amount of excess rip rap, you will need to hire a local landscape grader or a construction company that specializes in rip rap installation to remove it for you. Because rip rap consists of large stones, it requires proper equipment to haul away and dispose of properly. If you happen to have the necessary equipment, you can drop off your excess rip rap at a landfill or transfer station.

If your old bricks are in decent condition and you have the space to store them where they’ll be protected from the elements, keeping old bricks is often worthwhile. You’d spend anywhere from $70 to a few hundred dollars to have them removed from your property, in which case you won’t be able to use them for future projects. Holding on to old bricks in good condition means you can use them later for other DIY projects, potentially saving yourself some money on disposal and new materials down the road.
