E and J Concrete

This is the second time I have had E and J out to complete concrete work for our home. Initially they did a phenomenal job on our front porch. And we wanted them specifically to do more work due to the high quality job they did. They are knowledgeable and reliable. All of the workers are polite and hard working. We had them out to extend the porch into a larger patio for the front of the house. It was made to blend with the previous work and really has made the front look fantastic. I can’t say enough about this company. I have several other projects in the future I would like to complete

Juan was superb. E&J's work was beyond my expectations, and I am extremely satisfied. Juan made excellent design suggestions and carried them out expertly. He knew the codes that needed to be satisfied and came up with a design that was elegant, functional, and met all the codes. Although the cost was higher than other bids, the quality was much much higher so they are not really comparable. It was worth it! I could not be happier. The only issue I had is the same that others had: wires were cut in the process (to auto garage door; invisible fence). Juan took the initiative to personally come out himself and arrange for one of them (garage door opener) to be fixed, so that was really professional. The other, I will take care of.

Juan was really responsive and got out very quickly to give us an estimate. Once we gave him the go ahead, it took about three weeks for him to get us on the schedule. His crew demo'd the old drive in a couple of hours and poured the new drive the next morning. They were all done by noon or so. The drive looks FANTASTIC. The only hiccup in the whole thing was that the sprinkler system was damaged in two different spots. Apparently, this is pretty common with driveway work; but that was additional expense I didn't count on. The drive was $5,400; and the sprinkler repair was another $300. It went great. Juan was very responsive to calls. The price for the work was very reasonable. The work was done in a timely manner on schedule.

Extremely happy with my decision to go with E and J. Juan had some excellent ideas of how to turn problem areas into beautiful enhancements to our home. The crew showed up on time, no surprises and I could not be more satisfied with the outcome.

I am pleased with the awesome job performed by Juan's crew. Very keen on detail and customer satisfaction. The crew works hard and are a "well oiled machine"!!

Juan was helpful in determining what areas to address to prevent future water problems. We accepted some of his suggestions and modified others. The work started on time, took two days longer than originally noted, but there they took care to do the job correctly. Preparation involved removing existing metal fence (except the uprights) removing and grading dirt to create the desired water flow. E & J also coordinated with the electrician and garage-door company who installed an electric opener for the rolling gate. The electrician also installed a pole light in the patio area (with timer and dedicated circuit). When the work was completed, we found a larger than expected drop-off at the edges of the driveway and parking pad. At our request, (but no additional costs) they brought in more soil and packed it against edges. The workmen work well together, everyone pitching in to do what was needed. They were respectful of one another, and our questions and request along the way. Juan was on-site daily and available by phone anytime. The other owner, Eduardo, joined the work crew on more than one day.

These guys are great! They treated my house as if it were there own. Very professional and did meticulous work!

Everything went well, until I turned my sprinkler system back on (E&J turned off the sprinkler system so they could move sprinkler heads and were supposed to cap them off before pouring the concrete porch). One zone of my sprinkler system no longer works (I had my sprinkler guy come out - he feels that the line was filled with concrete and no longer usable) trying to get E&J to fix it, to no avail. Also, when I turned my system back on, water poured out from under the porch, they must not have capped off one of the sprinkler heads. It looked like they did a good job, the porch is nice, however, it will cost me quite a bit of money to have my sprinkler system fixed - overall, wish I had not used them.

It was a terrific experience! The crew arrived at 7:30 am and worked steadily untill about 4, when it looked like rain. They showed up at 7;30 the next day and finished all the work. They are professional and they really know what they're doing.

7:00-7:30 and this crew is on it. If daylight was 6:00am this time of year I have no doubt they would have been here at 6:00.
No alarm clock necessary. This crew came to work. If you want to shoot the breeze and discuss ideas then talk to Juan. He's got tons of ideas and will be extremely helpful designing your project. When the crew shows up... get out of the way. These guys are Pro's. If you want good value for your money then you can rest assured this crew will not disappoint. Will definitely use again.

The work crew arrived early each day; prepped the site; removed surrounding sod for reuse; leveled and built up grade before pouring cement. Crews worked deligently and finished on time. Work area was kept neat, sod was replaced and patio surfacing performed efficiently and resulted in a very attractive addition to our property. We were very pleased with the planning, service and workmanship. Would recommend and have.

Awesome! Wouldn't have anyone else do this work for us. A+ SERVICE!!!

The crew from E&J concrete were prompt, helped remove items from the shed and began to level and lay the foundation for the cement flooring we had hired them to pour.  The foreman and owner Juan Ornelas was always present, saw that all the work was done as promised.  We were very pleased with the results and the crew were very professional, tended to their work, every one worked at their assigned task without much conversation.  We were very impressed with the attention to detail from the crew and the foreman, Juan.  The floor was done above our expectations and well worth the price.  We would certainly hire them again.

Juan said this could all be done in one day, which it was (except for a few details). The concrete work was done well and looks great, and the three downspouts are now underground (and doing well).  We had a misunderstanding about the dirt.  Too much dirt was brought to the house (of course, sometimes you don't know ahead of time how much dirt will be needed).  It was used to fill in the hole that the rabbits had dug and also put on the planting area (it's good dirt, not yucky clay type of dirt).  There was a lot of excess dirt and this was spread all over the front yard, on top of the grass.  We were not happy with this.  When we complained to Juan about this later, he said that his men had noticed a lot of holes in the front yard and they (or Juan) figured that we would want this dirt put on the front lawn to fill in the holes.  (We wish Juan had called us about this when they were making this decision.)  We would prefer that we didn't have all this dirt all over the lawn in our front yard -- it looks like there is no grass growing there (it's just dirt).  But it will have to stay this way until spring, when we can plant grass there, etc.  Juan said that he could bring some grass sod to us (for free, I think he said); his company often puts patios in for people and he often has a lot of free sod available when they do this.  At this point we are deciding what to do and will probably ask Juan for some sod at some point. Overall, we are happy with the concrete and downspout work, and Juan's very good customer service.

Juan was very prompt to call back and set appt to review the work. Their workers came quite on time in the morning, and the work was done in two days. There was a bit of delay to fix the brickwork because the brick worker wasn't available until the weekend. My only disappointment was on the cleaning part after the work was done, I saw the left pile of debris in the corner of my garden. Wish they would clean it up better, but the work itself is awesome and very neatly done.
