"I had a flooded basement due to a storm. In the process also discovered 2 large foundations cracks. After calling in several foundation repair companies Hitman was the only one who took the time to properly diagnose the cause of my flood. Their team then fixed and repaired all of the issues in a day. I am so grateful because this flood was uninsured costs I didn’t want to face again. One of the other companies I had come in to diagnose gave me a $10,000 proposal that wouldn’t have even fixed the problems. Thank you Hitman for running an exceptional business."

"We hired Tyler to do several "small" jobs for us. He installed storage shelving in our garage, and installed an ADA ramp in my father-in-laws garage as well as patching the flashing around his chimney and repairing the ceiling drywall where a bee infestation in the attic was breaking through. Tyler did a great job on all the items. He communicated well, was very respectful, cleaned up after the jobs and hauled away the waste, and was reasonably priced. I would highly recommend Solis Constructruction to anyone needing large to small jobs!"

"My overall experience with them was amazing!!!! I had them lay down tile floors in my dining room, kitchen, 30 foot hallway and bathroom. They also tiled halfway up the walls in my bath. anything I asked them to do, they were most accommodating. They found that there had been a leak in the kitchen floor, brought it to my attention and repaired it before laying the tiles. They were very trustworthy and I was not afraid to leave them alone in my home. They cleaned up after they were finished and my place was left in much better condition than when they came. I would HIGHLY recommend them for any contracting work you may need done."

"We had a 4 stone high retaining wall and 3 brick high flower bed trim installed around our house. Bill was out at my next availability to scope out the project and had an estimate in like a day. The next day he dropped off stone samples for my husband and I to look at when we got home from work. I picked the color I wanted but did not want that size for the flower beds around the house (too big). Bill took me to Curley Brothers Brick and Masonry and when I couldn't find the size I wanted, we talked with someone there and he knew just what I wanted. The work was then completed in about 4 days. Bill's mantra was, "It has to look like it's always been there." They were very careful to make sure the corners were perfectly square and every brick blended all the way around the house. We really like the way the flower bed bricks do a zig zag next to where they put in a little entry way by the fence gate (had to do zig zag or else the gate wouldn't open). They took out the black drainage piping at the end of our downspouts and buried piping with a green cap a few feet from the wall and flower bed on both sides of the house (huge improvement I didn't even know existed)). They took the dirt that was dug out and used it to level an area in the back yard where we're having him put in a patio in the fall. They then planted grass and that was it! It looks great. The price never varied from the estimate. We are very happy."

Retaining Wall Installers questions, answered by experts

Through proper drainage solutions and compacting the foundation soil.

Depending on who you hire to build a retaining wall, the average cost, including demolition and reconstruction, for a 50-foot wall that's 4 feet in height is between $7,000 and $24,000.

Costs depend on material type, labor rates, and additional features like decorative finishes or reinforcement.

Failure to compact the soil during construction is the most common cause of leaning retaining walls. In addition, poor drainage can lead to excessive water pressure behind a retaining wall, pushing against it until it begins to move forward away from the soil it is holding back.

Railroad ties can be good for retaining walls, but it depends on the area. They have a desirable rustic look and are durable. The problem is they’re treated with creosote, a preservative the EPA says poses a risk to humans and wildlife. Over time, the preservative seeps out of the wood and into the ground. Many areas have banned the use of creosote-treated wood on residential properties. If your area does allow it, never use railroad ties near an edible garden or drinking water source. Instead, use wood that’s treated with an EPA-approved preservative or a wood-alternative composite material.
