"Professional, courteous, came on time. the pet odor was taken care of in the back bedroom. Stains removed, carpet looked clean and fresh. I had Tom redo the bottom three stairs to the den. This carpet is a Berber and did not clean as well as the other stairwell. The Berber Carpet is a much tighter weave. The entire carpet took longer to dry than the stated 2 to 4 hours. Would recommend this company for carpet and furniture cleaning, Review by Barb M. in Bolingbrook, IL"

House Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Yes, it’s best to wash all linens, pet items, curtains, rugs, clothing, and cushion covers to remove any excess residue that could cause harm. The pesticides from flea bombs can often linger on surfaces or fabrics, which is why washing all items is best for the health of you and your loved ones.

If you’re hiring a house cleaner, you should have them clean the house bi-weekly. This is the most common frequency for people who hire house cleaners, but what’s best for you will depend on how big your house is, how many people live in it, and if you have any pets. If you can maintain tidiness and deal with any immediate spills or splashes on your own, then a professional clean bi-weekly or even monthly should do the trick.

Yes, clean baseboards with a retractable flat broom or mop or a vacuum with a long brush attachment if you're trying to avoid bending over to reach your baseboards. You can also attach a cloth or a clean sponge dipped in a cleaning solution to the end of a broomstick to reach your baseboards without straining your back.

There are many different cleaning services available to tidy up and take care of specific cleaning tasks, you may not want to tackle yourself. That allows you to mix-and-match DIY with professional services to get the deep clean you want..

If you’re looking for someone to organize your stuff, you can hire for that, too. For an average of $526, professional organizers can tackle closets, attics, garages, and more, which could be helpful if you’re making major home changes.

Baking soda can take between 15 minutes and a few hours to deodorize a refrigerator or other area. Baking soda acts as a pH neutralizer for the acidic nature of smells. Placing an open box of baking soda in your refrigerator can help keep smells at bay.
