"Paul and his crew are are very detailed and take great pride in their work.  He has also painted some interior surfaces for me including cabinetry and trim.  He leaves a clean area at the end of the day.  He is always on time and his prices are very reasonable.

"Ray's yellow page advertising is what drew my attention to his business. He had the first ad under the painting contractor heading. The amount of information provided in the ad is what made me contact him initially. Once he showed up at my home, we did a walk through and I was impressed with how quickly he spotted problem areas. He completed the work a few days later, on-time and very efficiently. Ray was professional, thorough and reasonably priced. I will continue to use this contractor in the future."

"They did a wonderful job. Arrived exactly when they said they would and spent hours making sure the driveway and path to the house was spotless! They also washed the sidewalk in front of the house without charging me, just as a surprise bonus! What a fantastic job they did.

"Manny communicated with me almost immediately after the purchase to get the appointment set up. They were very flexible in scheduling and even rearranged when I had a last-minute conflict come up on my schedule. On the day of the apt they came in and assessed what I wanted done, then got right to work. They were very quiet, clean and professional. Finished all work on time and upon cleanup I had nothing to do but stand back and admire newly painted areas. Will DEFINITELY hire again!!"

"George, the owner designed landscaping, sent me the plan and we changed a few things. he was very easy to work with and very professional. He came himself to do the work.the planet trees shrubs and flowers and mulched. He watered everuthing as well. He cleaned everything up and left no mess. George even went to the hardware store and bought a replacement patio screen door that I needed. Amazing service. I would reccomend My Personal Gardener to anyone.

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

In many areas, a floating deck that isn’t connected to your home and stays under 200 square feet and below 30 inches in height may not need a permit. These freestanding structures are often considered low-risk, which can simplify the building process. However, building codes vary greatly based on location. Before investing in any home improvement project, check with your local permitting office for deck-building guidelines.

It is recommended to clean your deck once or twice a year to prevent the accumulation of dirt, debris, mold, and mildew. The ideal times for cleaning are in the spring and fall. A spring cleaning removes grime that has built up over the winter, preparing your deck for summer use. A fall cleaning washes away messes from summer activities, preventing them from setting into the wood over the winter. The exact frequency can depend on factors such as how often the deck is used, its exposure to pollen, and whether salt was used on it during the winter. Regular cleaning helps protect the wood and its finish from damage.

Most building codes require that spindles or balusters on deck and stair railings be spaced no more than four inches apart. This safety standard, often called the '4-inch sphere rule,' is designed to prevent small children or pets from slipping through the railing. A good way to visualize this is that a 4-inch sphere should not be able to pass between two spindles. For the same safety reason, the space between the bottom rail and the deck floor should also be no more than four inches. As a general guideline, professionals often install three balusters per foot of railing. However, since specific requirements can vary by location, it is crucial to check your local building codes to ensure compliance before starting your project.

Both deck footings and deck posts help prop up your deck. However, footings are the bottommost parts of a deck that touch the ground. They’re usually made of concrete. Posts are pieces of wood that attach to the top of the footings with brackets. They run upwards and connect to the underside of your deck to support its weight.

Pressure-treated lumber is one of the most affordable types of decking upfront. This material is widely available, so you can usually find pressure-treated lumber at almost any local home improvement store you visit. Keep in mind that wood requires a lot of upkeep with repainting and restaining, so any kind of wood may be more expensive in the long run than something like PVC decking.
