"Couldn't be happier with Jason and Deck Pro, quick quoting, responsive all throughout the process & just a very nice job done on the cleaning & staining of our fence. We used his suggestion on the color of the fence and couldn't be happier as well. Thank you Jason & will do business with again!"

"Victoria Cleaning Solutions did an amazing job power washing my patio! They were recommended to me by the contractor who installed my backsplash, and I?m so glad I took the suggestion. The results were incredible?my patio looks brand new. They were professional, efficient, and clearly know what they?re doing. I was truly amazed by the transformation and would highly recommend Victoria Cleaning Solutions to anyone in need of power washing or exterior cleaning services."

"I wanted a Blaze King woodstove. They were the nearest Blaze King dealers who also installed.
Throughout the process of inspecting the proposed installation, Matt Oesterling patiently discussed options with me, and at each step advised me of the least expensive route to take. Having done my own research - which I advise anyone contemplating similar purchase to do, I did not always take his advice, but he was flexible and his pricing was fair (I had already priced parts from distributors).
He and his crew arrived at the appointed time, did a professional installation, and cleaned up thoroughly.

"Very professional and did a great job cleaning my vinyl deck. I had them previously out to clean the concrete sidewalk, concrete in front of my garage, and the very neglected concrete patio. The patio was a night and day difference. I will definitely have them back again to clean the brick on the house."

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Applying too much sealer to a deck might seem like extra protection, but it can cause more harm than good. Wood is a porous material with a limited capacity to absorb liquids. When you go overboard with sealer, the excess can't soak in and instead forms a film on the surface. This leftover layer is prone to peeling, cracking, and trapping moisture, ultimately defeating the purpose of sealing in the first place.

Floating decks are a cost-effective and versatile option, but they come with some compromises. Since they sit on smaller footings instead of being deeply anchored, they’re more likely to shift over time, especially in areas with heavy rainfall or freeze-thaw conditions. Their low-to-the-ground design makes them more susceptible to moisture buildup and potential water damage.

The life expectancy of deck boards varies widely based on the material, climate, and maintenance. Untreated wood boards typically last 10 to 30 years with proper care, while pressure-treated boards can last up to 50 years. Hardwoods generally outlast softwoods. Composite boards also tend to last longer than natural wood. Environmental factors like arid or humid climates can shorten a deck's lifespan. To extend the life of wood decking, it's important to consistently clean and seal it to protect against moisture, UV light, and insects.

You do not have to dig footers for a deck as long as it meets local code and holds up to weather in your area. If you live somewhere that experiences high winds and earthquakes, you may need to dig for your deck posts. Deck blocks, post anchors with base plates, and helical pile systems are the three no-dig deck post options you can choose from if local code permits.

No, you don't need to stain Ipe decking, although you can if you want to change the color. You will, however, need to apply a UV coating if you don't want the natural color to fade. Speak to a deck staining specialist near you to discuss the best options if you want to stain your decking. And remember that you’ll need to seal your Ipe wood deck annually to protect it from scratches and Mother Nature.
