"They were able to get my job done within a week of me calling to get the quote. The quote was free. Nice guys that took my trees down. Price is probably the best around. Will definitely be using them for our tree services. We had trees removed and tree trimmed. They will do as little or as much as you need."

"Love the work David did for my trees. He trimmed some large branches that I needed and he was very quick in the process. He's friendly and his crew really cleans up the property nicely. He's my tree guy for the next time!"

"I found Hooten's Tree Service on Angie's list as I looked for someone to take down a big mulberry tree that had a large branch sagging and banging against the roof of my house.  The branch and the rest of the tree appeared to be ready to fall onto the house, so I was in a bit of a rush.  Bryon and his crew responded quickly and, though citing a large job slated for the afternoon, started work and took down the offending branch almost immediately, with a written agreement to take down the rest of the tree the next day.  Included in the written agreement he allowed me to pay over time for the work after an initial deposit.   It was about three days before he returned after I'd called to ask what had happened, and with the second visit the rest of the tree was down.
I had difficulty watching him work with a chainsaw.   I know a bit about handling equipment, having worked before for a landscaper and having studied landscape maintenance in a certificate program at a junior college in my youth.   Though he climbed safely, I was afraid he'd injure himself with the saw.  His handling of it is flashy, but not safe.
Verbal (not written in the contract) implication the crew would clean gutters and stack the wood was apparently forgotten.  I have no difficulty with that, because a friend has claimed the wood in exchange for repairing my guttering.
Bryon and his whole crew were very respectful and polite.   I am still impressed by the willingness to accept payment over time.

"Did a great job of removing 2 trees, for the same price others quoted for just one. Very Fair, Some quotes were double the price Clean up was fantastic, not even a twig was left after removal. Waiting to have stump removed, but Dave adjusted price until job is complete Have other work that needs to be done, Dave gave honest opinion on what needed attention, did not try to upsell me on other work Plan on using again, would recommend, and I am picky"

You can use a chainsaw, but it won’t remove the entire stump or root ball and is not a recommended method. It takes quite a bit of physical work to achieve and will likely dull or ruin your chainsaw. Instead, consider using salt, herbicide, light deprivation, boiling water, stump grinding, or burning to kill a tree stump. These methods allow you to kill a stump using minimal machinery and physical exertion.

If the roots are still alive, the dead tree will usually try to put out new shoots. That doesn’t mean the tree will survive or that the dead parts of a tree will come back to life. If parts of the tree have died and turned gray or rotten, nothing will bring them back to life and they need to be safely removed.

In some states and municipalities, you will need a permit to remove a tree on your property. In many cases where permits are required, a tree must reach a maximum height before a permit is required to remove it. You can either ask your local building department or a tree removal professional if you’ll need a permit. If you do, you can expect to pay between $50 and $150 for the permit alone. Your tree removal company should pull the permit for you and include the permit fee in your total.

Full decorating services often provide rental trees for their Christmas packages, so you shouldn’t have any trouble finding one. However, individual interior decorators and others may not offer rented trees, so always check the specifics of their services before booking. Keep in mind that you’ll need to prepare the Christmas tree for pick-up shortly after the holidays.

If it’s your property, then you can plant a tree near power lines, but it’s not the best idea. Any vegetation that grows within 10 feet or so of power lines will fall under the responsibility of the utility company, and they may trim or remove it as necessary. If you do move forward with your plan, try to choose a smaller ornamental tree, plant it as far away from the power lines as you can, and keep it trimmed to avoid future problems.
