"The service team was very thorough in explaining the steps of my two fans that were to be installed and the electrical outlet install, all costs were upfront and visible. They covered my furniture and swept the floors after the job was completed, I am very happy with Knees Electric. I will certainly use them again and recommend this company to others should the opportunity arise. I love my new fans!"

"Mr. Jim Gorman who is the owner of the business called me back within a half hour of my email posting. He visited my home 3 days later, inspected things, and told me what the approximate cost would be. He and his helper then installed an entire lightning protection system on both my house and a back garage/storage area. He did things exactly as I wanted in every way. Also threw in a free weathervane which increased the beauty of my home. I would have no objection to recommending this gentleman and his company to anyone who is in need of a competently installed lightning protection system for their home/property. MID-AMERICA LIGHTNING RODS is one fine company run by a man who cares about doing good work according to the latest safety codes etc. Having lost my previous retirement home to lightning, it was very important to me to get this job done and quickly because the thunderstorm season is upon us and with the climate change, those storms are very wicked, especially here out in the country where i live!"

"I called NexGen Electrical on a Thursday morning to ask about removing/replacing my post light. They came out at noon and gave me a quote to replace it. Decided to replace it and was scheduled for the next week. They provided the new light, cemented it in ( even made a run to Menards to purchase a bulb) and the job was completed in about 2 hours. I feel the cost was reasonable. David was very good to work with. Will definitely hire them again for future projects."

"Very nice and professional. Price was in the average range of what we had researched and cheaper than our other two estimates. Work was awesome. The system is installed and is barely noticeable. I definitely recommend WB Lightning Rods."

Customers say: Quick response

"I hired Brehmer Electric to perform a service breaker box upgrade. We had put an addition on our home and needed new wiring installed as well. Brehmer Electric gave a thorough estimate and overview of the job and how they would do the work. I was very impressed with the pricing, planning, safety, professional handling, and quality of work they performed. The work was completed in a timely manner. After the job was completed he took the time to explain everything that was done. They exceeded my expectations for an electrical contractor. I am beyond pleased with the work and my interaction with the company. We will be choosing them again for future projects."

"It was pretty rocky. At first. Several appoints made by Tri-State no one ever showed up.Crew showed up to install the Generator before the site survey and did not have necessary equipment or cooperation of Electric or gas company nor call before you dig had been notified. I called Tri-State to warn them the call before dig had never been preformed. They said they'd take care of it, did not happen until right before installation crew came back the second time. The first time they were here they could not have installed the generator even had they had all the parts because none of the utilities had been marked. Finally after about three months the Generac was installed and working. I had several questions that I could never get answered by calling Tri-State. One of the installation team had to come back a couple of weeks later to replace a damaged part and he answered all my questions. The guys who installed the Generac were great, the problem is your guys operation center and call center as far as I can see do not communicate very well. Anyway the generator has worked fine in several power outages this spring. I am happy right now but I live in dread something goes wrong and I have to call Tri-State for help."

Electrical questions, answered by experts

For electrical projects in Peru, keep essentials like a digital multimeter, non-contact voltage tester, wire strippers, insulated screwdrivers, and a reliable flashlight. Stock up on GFCI outlets for kitchens and bathrooms, weather-resistant covers for outdoor outlets, electrical tape rated for local temperature swings, wire nuts, surge protectors, spare breakers, and exterior-grade caulk to seal outdoor penetrations against Peru’s freeze-thaw cycles.

Helpful?

Homeowners in Peru often overlook key steps such as using indoor-rated wiring outdoors, skipping GFCI outlets in damp areas, or neglecting to update overloaded circuits—especially in older homes. Failing to disconnect power before work or not checking for proper grounding can create serious safety risks. Always double-check wiring compatibility with Peru’s climate and consider surge protection for frequent thunderstorms.

Helpful?

In Peru, outdoor outlets, basements, and crawl spaces often need attention due to humidity and freeze-thaw cycles. Main panels in homes built between the 1960s and 1980s, aluminum wiring in 1970s houses, and knob-and-tube wiring in historic neighborhoods are common trouble spots. High-use areas like kitchens and home offices may also require upgrades as technology demands grow in Peru homes.

Helpful?

Completing electrical projects in Peru brings immediate benefits like safer outlets, improved lighting, and reduced risk of power interruptions during storms. Over time, upgrades help your home meet modern code requirements, boost property value, and make it easier to support smart home devices or electric vehicle charging. Proactive electrical work also helps prevent costly repairs caused by outdated wiring or overloaded circuits.

Helpful?

In Peru, flickering lights during windstorms, outlets that feel warm or work inconsistently, and a burning smell—especially in humid conditions—can signal bigger electrical problems. Frequent breaker trips, mild shocks from appliances, or rust on your electrical panel are warning signs. If you notice water stains or pest-damaged wiring in basements or crawl spaces, address these issues promptly to prevent major repairs.
