"I met Martin from Mr.Sparky, All I had to do was tell him what I needed, he went to work immediately then he came upstairs and installed the second fan in my master bedroom. He was very knowledgeable and he explained everything he was doing and he was very nice and very helpful and he was extremely knowledgeable I think he could do it with his eyes closed but he was very clean and when he was done he took the time to make sure he had everything ready to go. I was so happy with Martin. I would not hesitate to recommend him for any electrical work that needs to be done. So impressed with his company and him, I couldnâ t be happier. Thank you for the opportunity to meet Martin and to share his story with you. Thanks again!!"

"Hankâ s Electrialâ s electrician, Wesley, installed our EV charger in our garage. He did an exceptional job so we had him come back to install two 4-foot LEDs in the garage as well as a ceiling fan and a mini chandelier in the house. Wesley was meticulous, thorough and professional. He takes the time necessary to do the work properly and doesnâ t take shortcuts. He was also concerned with how to do the installations while protecting our property. We were extremely pleased with all the work Wesley did for us. We recommended him to other members of our family and would easily recommend him to others for similar projects. Top notch!!"

Bathroom Fan Installation questions, answered by experts

Some disadvantages of a blower cooler—a type of cooling device sometimes known as a swamp cooler—are its increased energy demand and its higher noise level. Blowers require more energy to run because they push air out at a higher pressure. This also means a blower cooler can be louder than a fan. Blower coolers are also not recommended for humid areas because humidity limits their cooling potential.

Keeping dust off fans can keep them working optimally and help keep dust mites or bacteria from building up. Dust fans weekly with a duster, microfiber cloth, old pillowcase, or vacuum attachment. You can also try spraying a clean fan with a store-bought dust-repellent product or making a DIY dust-repellent with water and a small amount of liquid fabric softener mixed in.

While it may seem like it makes sense to put a fan in the attic to cool it down, it won’t be as effective as installing attic fans. Ventilation installed near the peak of the roof, whether passive (just allowing heat to escape) or active (drawing the air up and out) will be more effective at cooling the attic.

The square footage of your room will dictate the correct ceiling fan blade size. For example:

  • Rooms smaller than 75 square feet require a fan that is 29 to 36 inches.

  • Rooms up to 175 square feet require 42- to 48-inch fans.

  • Rooms up to 350 square feet require 52- to 56-inch fans.

  • Expansive spaces over 350 square feet need a fan larger than 60 inches.

Solar attic fans work in winter, but they serve a different purpose than they do in summer. During the colder months of the year, these fans improve air circulation within your attic, which helps remove condensation and moisture to prevent mold growth and protect your insulation and the structure of your home.
