"We recently had blown in insulation installed in our home and couldn’t be happier with the experience from start to finish. The team was kind, professional and incredibly prompt. They showed up on time explained the process clearly and treated our home with respect. What really stood out was the pricing after receiving a much higher quote from another company their estimate was very fair and transparent with no pressure or upselling. It was clear they care about doing honest work at a reasonable price. The installation was completed efficiently, and the whole process was smooth and stress-free. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for insulation work great service, great value and great people."

"nick and his crew were experienced and very knowledgeable in their product and the job they are hired for. I like the quick communication and the being on time when it came to perform the job. I would highly recommend hiring NM Enterprises for any job that has to do with insulation. Very professional and they take pride in doing a great job for their customers. Also, did items beyond what they were hired to do like, rerouted my kitchen vent that the builder or roofers did not vent through the roof, also removed some items that were left in attic from another owner. Again, i recommend hiring NM Enterprises for your next insulation job."

"David and team did a fantastic job. I had 30 year old attic insulated. Old insulation removed and reblown in. David sealed around ceiling lighting, gaps where mice had gained entrance, sealed around windows. They were reliable, efficient, personable, cost effective, and most of all listened to our problems for resolution. We were pleased that we hired DAP and Sons."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

DIY installation is not recommended, as professionals ensure even distribution, proper sealing, and compliance with building codes.

Glass fibers are often used in HEPA filters because of their high efficiency, durability, and thermal stability. Some HEPA filters are made with synthetic fibers, but they may not be as effective. While there is some fiberglass shedding, as long as the HEPA filter is intact and not cut open, the amount of fiberglass released by a HEPA filter is well below the breathable particulate matter.

There are many reasons one bedroom may be hotter than the rest of the house. The sun will quickly heat a south-facing bedroom with a large window, especially if it lacks quality curtains. If the room has poor insulation, this could let more warm outside air in. Upstairs bedrooms are often hotter than ground-floor rooms because heat rises. Finally, rooms further away from the air conditioning unit may heat up a lot if the system is not properly balanced.

Yes, even though frost-free and freeze-proof faucets are designed to withstand winter weather, it is still recommended to cover them with an insulated cap, especially during periods of extreme cold. These faucets work by keeping excess water inside the home's heated space and using a downward slope to drain, but this protection can be compromised. For the faucet to work correctly, you must always disconnect any attached hoses before temperatures drop below freezing, as a hose can trap water and lead to freezing. Ultimately, covering all outdoor faucets, even freeze-proof models, is the best way to prevent frozen and burst pipes.

The average U.S. homeowner pays $1,850 to insulate their home. However, the cost of insulation depends on the type, the size of your home, and who does the installation work.

The cost of foam board insulation depends on whether it's made from expanded polystyrene (EPS) or extruded polystyrene (XPS). EPS has the lower price point, usually costing between $0.25 and $0.50 per board foot, while XPS costs between $0.40 and $0.50 per board foot.
