"Good quality work. One repair, a towel rack, popped off the wall in the kid's bathroom. He showed up and fixed it with a smile."

Crone Auto Body opened in Lakeside Park on Butttermilk Pike, on January 23rd, 1953. The company was started by Carl Crone and his wife Rita. Carl started this dream with more than just an idea, he was a true visionary. He saw the business as more than just a paint shop, to him it was generational. He and his wife Rita worked in tandem to launch what is now a 3rd generation business. Our reputation for Quality at Moderate Cost was firmly established in the Crescent Springs area in these early years and continues to a vital core value. One of the key ingredients held by the staff and leadership is that we appreciate you. This appreciation to our customers and staff is more than a blind statement. To the Crone’s crew it is a value passed on from generation to generation, hence the customer and employee loyalty we receive. We know that to be effective we need to do the right things and to be efficient we need to do things right. The uncompromising attention to the details is what makes for a great business relationship. At the very core you will sense a distinct difference as you are appreciated. In late 1960′s about 90% of Crone’s Auto Body work was retail–a big shift from the early days. Crone’s Auto Body believes in keeping a strong brand that presents an infernal and external reality of moderate prices, customer appreciation and the quick turnaround. Quality Work at a Fair Price

"Doug was great. We have an old house with non-standard doors and some that previous owners had "fixed" to meet standards. Doug and the guys at Sentry were able to fit us with a new front door and screen door without having to tear out the whole entry way and it looks great. We love getting a breeze through the screen door and when it gets hot out we are looking forward to a door that keeps the AC in."

Founded in 1958 by Larry Goderwis, Elsmere Ironworks started as a small custom welding shop. Today the business is owned by Larry's two sons John and Dan Goderwis who have transformed the small welding shop into a successful custom wrought iron shop, fabricating interior and exterior railing, fencing, estate gates and window boxes. Elsmere Ironworks specializes in hand crafted ornamental iron using old world techniques combined with new age painting and welding construction for quality products built to last a life-time. Elsmere Ironworks gives you a chance to design a custom wrought iron product that adds beauty and elegance to your home. All items are fabricated when ordered to assure quality and design. Our specialty is custom wrought iron exterior and interior railing, fencing, window boxes and gates. Our customers range from large contracting businesses to small residential jobs. All of our products are made to our customers specifications. We use a baked on powder coat finish with multiple color to choose from. We offer the most competitive pricing in the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky and Indiana areas. We now accept Visa, Mastercard and Discover. Additional DBA - Bob's Welding & Fabricating.

"Elsmere Ironworks is extraordinary! Top notch service and craftsmanship. We needed to add a 25 ft. custom curved railing to our patio. I looked at their website, picked out a few examples and emailed them for a quote. I never met with anyone in person until the day that the railing was installed. The measurements were taken while we were at work and I expected something to go wrong, due to the shape of the patio and custom nature of the product - custom measurements almost always seem to need to be adjusted. When the installers started their work, the railing was beautiful and it fit absolutely perfectly - amazing! The railing adds a beautiful finish and character to the patio and is my favorite single feature. I wish I had the need for more of their creations, because they are knowledgeable, creative, professional, and helpful through the entire process."

Wrought Iron questions, answered by experts

You can buy wrought iron fencing from a trusted fence installation company near you. You could also opt to buy it privately from a homeowner who is interested in recycling their own wrought iron materials. Manufacturers stopped mass production of wrought iron as steel became more affordable to produce, so you likely won't find it in any local big box stores.

Posts for a horizontal fence should be no more than 6 feet apart. Wood pickets are not as strong when mounted horizontally as when mounted vertically. As such, the fence panels on a horizontal fence can’t cover the same span between posts as a vertical fence can. If you install the posts further apart on a horizontal fence, the fence will lose stability, making the boards more likely to sag.

When looking at natural wood fences, you have several options other than cedar, namely: pine and redwood. Compared to cedar, redwood fencing has a deeper, red-brown color, better durability, and a higher price tag. Pine, on the other hand, is one of the most affordable types of wood for fences, but it requires the most maintenance out of the three and has the shortest lifespan.

The maximum recommended slope on which you can build a racked or stepped fence is 45 degrees. After that, construction becomes quite tricky and may require the use of retaining walls or terraces to make the fenced area flatter.

While many fence companies and fence material retailers refer to their metal fencing as wrought iron fencing, most of it is actually ornamental wrought iron fence. This means that the fence is made to look like traditional wrought iron but is actually made out of either steel or aluminum. Old wrought iron fences typically found at estate sales or on older properties are much heavier and much more prone to rust than the ornamental wrought iron that newer homes and fences use.
