"[Member Name Removed]... thank you for your report. We really dropped the ball on this one in terms of communication as to when we would start and finish the job. I know you had a deadline because of the pending sale of your home. Did we at least meet that deadline? I hope that the new owners are satisfied with the work we did. I don't know who you sold your home to, but you can certainly have them call us if they need any more repairs or if they have questions about the work we performed. Have them contact me, MIKE MORRIS, personally and I will make sure we handle them properly. My cell number is 513-615-7239."
"{member name removed}..thanks for the great review. I understand, I think, why you graded us a B for price. We're certainly not the least expensive contractor in Cincinnati. I'm concerned, however, about the B we got for Professionalism. Anything less than an A, in our opinion, is tantamount to anD. If you could just fire back and let me/us know where I/we screwed up in the professionalism department, it would be much appreciated. Thanks for your business. Call me anytime if you need more help. Mike Morris, (513) 615-7239."
Correction: Company can do job of gutters if needed.
"[Member name removed]. . . Not sure who told you we won't drive out to Batavia to clean your gutters. We certainly will. The cost might be a little higher than what you are used to (when you lived in Cincinnati) but we will be happy to supply service to you anytime, and for any reason. Please call me if you need anything and thanks for the great review. Mike Morris - CELL: 513-615-7239 OFFICE: 513-977-4321"
The work was completed promptly using shingle materials left over from my last repair job. I am a satisfied customer.
"Dear [member name removed], Thanks for the review. Glad we could be of help on this labor-only service call. Let us know if you need any more help in the future. Mike Morris, Tecta America Zero Co. Cell: 513-615-7239"
Drain pipes (coming off the gutters) were installed with a bend in them when they easily could have been straight with just a little effort.
The downspot and pipe were crimped together in a way that was not appealing...instead of a nice clean joint it looks like the pipe was not sized right to fit the downspot. I provided very simple suggestions but these all seemed new to the company. Such as having the right sized down spot to match the pipe. Crimping them 90 degrees from how they were in order to be more appealing. Using a different type of connection.
In all cases I showed the company my neighbors installation but they literally didn't want to compare against them. I was told it didn't matter what my neighbor's installation looked like. To me it does. I live in a nice neighborhood and think the house and all things about it should reflect this.
There were other misc elements I had to ask them to fix.
Finally they had clearly broken pieces of existing yard drain inlets in order to make their down pipes fit. Not only did this look very rough, poor quality, they left the broken pieces on the ground.
I have pictures to support all of these statements. In the end I should simply not have paid for the service but nonetheless I did.
"For the record, we completed this gutter installation in August of 2013, and not April of 2014 as mentioned in [Member name removed] review. The only reason I mention this is because when we completed the gutter installation in August, 2013, [Member name removed] did, indeed, contact us with a punch-list of legitimate concerns about the work we performed. Keeping in mind that we never take deposits or down-payments, and we never expect payment until customers are completely satisfied, [Member name removed] finally paid us in-full in December of 2013. The 4 months between completion of the job and final payment for the work performed is out of the ordinary for us and took us far too long to satisfy this particular customer, but in this case it took several trips back to perform the upgrades and improvements requested by [Member name removed] . Once paid, our assumption was that [Member name removed] was completely satisfied . . . until today when we got the review from Angie's List and a full year since payment was received from [Member name removed]. I will call [Member name removed] today in an effort to find out what, if anything, we need to do to satisfy him. I do not have any record of [Member name removed] calling us with any further complaints or requests since payment was received - and I only wish he would have reached-out to us, giving us a chance to revisit the job before writing the less-than-satisfactory review. Our goal is always complete/total customer satisfaction, and it is in that spirit that I will place this call at 12:15 p.m. today, Wednesday, December 17th, 2014. I can always be reached at (513) 615-7239. Mike Morris, Tecta America Zero Company."
"[Member name removed], thanks for the great review. So glad you are happy with the work we did for you. Many people think that we only do BIG JOBS... we just installed the new roof at Christ Hospital, for example... but we are more than happy to do small jobs, too. People appreciate dealing with a company that is fully insured and not too proud to do the little stuff. Let me know if you ever need anything else. We do roofing, siding, windows, doors, gutters, box gutters and all sorts of other popular residential home improvements. Mike Morris Cell: 513-615-7239 Office: 513-977-4321"
"Thanks [removed member name]... appreciate your input. Let us know if you need any more help in the future. You can call me directly at 513-615-7239 (my cell phone). Direct line to my desk (which I'm not normally at) is 513-977-4321. Mike Morris"
"[member name removed]... thanks so much for the nice review! Much appreciated. Thanks also for the constructive element with regard to our not showing up on the day we said we would start. We go to great lengths to stay in touch with our customers who are "on deck" and try to stick to agreed upon start dates. When those dates can't be kept, for weather or other reasons, we are supposed to call so that we can reset the date. In your case that didn't happen and we apologize. I have already spoken with Tim Carter, our Installation Mgr., and Kevin O'Rourke, our Customer Service Liaison regarding this and we'll learn by it. I'm glad, however, that you are happy with the work we did. Say thanks to Rob, as well. Call me anytime if you have questions or need service. My cell number is 513-615-7239. Mike Morris, Tecta America Zero Company, Cincinnati, OH 45237. PS: Keep in mind that we also sell and install windows, siding, doors & gutters....... as well as a full line of common residential service/repair items."
"(removed member name)... thanks for posting the review. We have some work to do, looks like, to make you happier. My biggest concern is the "B" for quality of workmanship. I didn't know until I opened the Angie's List Review (today) that we didn't measure-up to your quality expectations. I will have our Customer Service Liaison, Kevin O'Rourke, reach out to you today (June 3, 2014) via telephone. We'll set up a time for either me or Tim Carter (Installation Mgr.) to stop by to meet with you so you can show us what isn't quite right. Sorry about that. As for the "B" on price, I understand that we are certainly not the least expensive contractor in town. We do pay our employees more - perhaps far more - than much of our competition, but for that good pay we expect quality work, so back to my initial concern. Thanks again for the overall good review. We'll try to get your view of us back up to "A" if possible. Thanks for your business, you've been a good customer in the past. Mike Morris 513-615-7239"
"[member name removed]... thanks for the great review. Let me know if you need anything else in the future. We supply and install windows, doors, roofing, siding, sheet metal and box gutters, all kinds of repairs and services. No job too big or small. Mike Morris...... cell: 513-615-7239"
"[removed member name]..... thanks for the review. Much appreciated. Hey.... the weather has been getting in the way somewhat on the OTR project. Let me know if there is anything we can do until weather clears. Looks like next week will be good. DJ is doing a great job as PM at Jackson Street. I look forward to seeing the finished product. Should look great! Mike Morris"
First when the company representative had come out and spoke to me, he had mentioned they use
a certain brand of siding (Charter Oak by Alside) and gave me a brochure on it.
He gave me an initial quote for the new vinyl siding, shutters, gutters, and
downspouts. Then he came out and all the products were picked out which
included Charter Oak vinyl siding. The final quote was given at $3,000 more
than the original quote which was a big shock and very upsetting. How could somone
be so far off from their initial quote? When I questioned about the $3,000
difference, he said the quote was originally priced for their basic siding
which is less expensive. Nothing was ever said about this basic siding. This
product was never mentioned before and why did he say they used a certain brand
and then in the quote base it on another product. This started in May and got
the final quote in August. They haven't done any work for us. It sounded all
good at the beginning and what he could do for me and then it went downhill.
This company was referred to me by my insurance company and I will probably be contacting them to let them know what
happened so someone else won?t go through the same thing.
"We are sorry that this Angie’s List Member is not satisfied with our service to date; we feel we have treated the Member fairly and have responded appropriately. The increase in price is due to the selection by the Member of a premium (more expensive,) product than was originally discussed and additional requested work that is not covered by her insurance company. The increased cost of the upgraded siding is only $950 of the $3000 increase the Member mentions; the balance is to replace existing trim to match the new siding and miscellaneous other work. We have been working with the Member and her insurance company to help settle this claim but the insurance company has not increased their settlement to a level that is acceptable to the customer. We originally submitted pricing to the Member in June and the delay, in our opinion, is more about the Member and insurance company coming to an agreement than a lack of response on our part. In addition, the Member has mentioned to us that she has a price from another vendor that is lower than ours. We know we are typically not the low price leader and understand if the Member wants to go another route if price is the determining factor in this case. We do not believe we have done anything deceptive, we are just not able to provide the higher grade product and additional work the Member wants for the settlement amount the Member has received. We are still open to working with the Member and hope we can get back in her good graces. Her file, in fact, is still in “actively working” status here at our office. Insurance claims sometimes take a lot of time to get resolved. We will follow up with a phone call today. For the record, we have not entered into a contract with this Member nor have we taken any deposit. Jonathan Wolf, President"
"[member name removed]..... thanks so much for the great review. As you know, we try hard to please! Thanks again... Mike."
- We contacted several roofing companies, and most told us about the same thing. When the representative from Tecta America Zero Co. came he told us about other problems on the roof that needed attention. He seem interested in doing what was important for us to have a roof that would last us a life time. Others seem interested in getting work for themselves.
- When we finally decided to go ahead with the reroof, we were given a day they would start. They started on time, and took only about a day and a half to complete the roofing part of the job.
- Two day later, the gutter installers came and they took less than a day to do the work.
- During the whole job the superviser met with me about any problems. All in all the job went smoothly.
- I would recommend them if you are looking for a quality job.
"(deleted member name)....... Thanks for chiming in and letting Angie's List Members know that you are happy with the work we performed for you. Your roof and gutters look great. Your home should be much cooler inside during the summer months with all the additional venting you now have. Call anytime if you need anything. Mike Morris and the Residential Departement... "Thanks, Member for that great review. We really appreciate it!!! Happy New Year to you and your family. Let me know if you need any other repairs/improvements in 2013. Just a reminder that in addition to siding and trim, we also offer ROOFING, REPLACEMENT WINDOWS, STORM WINDOWS, GUTTERS, GUTTER PROTECTION, SKYLIGHTS, ATTIC INSULATION and all sorts of repairs. Mike Morris."
"We take pride in our performance are are pleased the customer received the value they expected!"
"We are thrilled the customer thinks we are great, but feel badly that a recommended subcontractor did not work out as expected. This particular subcontractor was referred based on our salesman’s personal experience, they painted his house, as well as positive comments from other customers. This is the first we have heard about the issues and would be willing to contact the painter on behalf of the owner to help work out a resolution if the member is interested."
"It is always nice when a customer realizes that hidden issues regularly occur during remodeling projects like reroofing. We do our best to explain the possibilities during the sales process and cover them in our qualifications; however it is impossible to list every one. Once an issue arises we do our best to fairly address the problem and work with the customer on an acceptable resolution. It sounds like the process worked as designed in this instance and we thank this family for their kind words and positive review."
"We are honored to service long term customers like this member and take as much pride in her $210.00 repair as we do in $20,000.00 plus roof replacements. We want to thank her for the business and public support."
