Good quality work. One repair, a towel rack, popped off the wall in the kid's bathroom. He showed up and fixed it with a smile.

We’ve had James work on several projects for us. He has replaced a cabinet bottom that was ruined by a leak, switched out plumbing and lighting fixtures and will be repairing some damage done by woodpeckers on our house trim soon. He is reliable and is a perfectionist! We’re so lucky to have found him and we highly recommend!

The basement door that opened to the backyard patio and deck would not lock. The house was on the market and being showed so I needed the door repaired ASAP. I messaged several handymen on AL and One Handyman was available to help me. He moved some things around and was able to fit me in the next day. The door works great now. I did not meet James face to face but he was punctual and professional with text messages.

James arrived early. I described the work requested. He gave me an estimate and outlined any concerns with the job. The repairs were completed promptly. James was diligent that things were done correctly. He is not the cheapest provider, but I felt the pricing was fair for quality work. He was a pleasure to work with and would use him again.

I called and left a message. James called me back the same morning. He was able to work me into his schedule within two working days which is exceptionally fast! James showed up exactly on time, looked at the job, gave me a price and got to work. He did an excellent job, going above and beyond by placing the contact information for my new equipment where we could easily find it. Unfortunately it got too cold to do some caulking work outside, but we will definitely have him back for that an many other things when it does.

James removed the doors and did his work right there on the patio. One of the doors was older and the spline material
was brittle and broke into pieces. This made the work go slowly as the pieces needed to be dug out first before the new screen could be installed.
When I checked on companies that would replace screens, many required you to bring the doors into their shop. If you had a vehicle that could handle the door size, that would save money. I found two companies that would transport them for you, but that was very expensive. James did the work on the spot and it saved time and was most convenient.
James was friendly, pleasant to talk to, did a great job and cleaned up afterward. He enjoys his work and I would hire him again.

I woke up on Tuesday morning, pulled my robe off its hanger in the closet, and then the shelf and all my clothes promptly fell right off the wall! I used Angie's List to send an email out to several handyman, none of whom I'd ever used before. James called me back right away, discussed how he would resecure the existing shelves with stronger clamps and longer screws, and gave me what seemed like a fair price. He showed up two days later, as promised, and completed the job. He cleaned up the debris afterward and was a very nice man. I would absolutely use him again.

James agreed to:
* Take down 2 metal awnings outside from 1st floor, and remove the metal bars that were left on house for about a total of 4 removed awnings.
* Paint steel lintels (approx. 1” wide) above doors and windows with rust inhibiting coating after wire brushing loose rust.
* Replace kitchen faucet unit (I supply)
* Fix basement shower head with tape to stop leaking.
* Replace bathroom accessories in upstairs bathroom (4 pieces) and downstairs bathroom ( 3 pieces). (I supply)
* Remove a wood shelf in garage.
On Thurs. James worked on removing the 2 awnings and connection bars, and removed wood shelf in garage. He commented that removing the awnings and bars where they were attached might be hard, but when James got started (around 10:30), they went quickly and were not a problem with crowbar. A telephone wire went through one of the metal bars at the edge. He was able to cut it loose and reattach to wall. He and I left at around 1:30-1:45. He went to lunch and came back just to remove wood shelf in garage. That is all he did for the day. I really have no idea when he left because I did not return to house.
I called him Thurs. evening after talking to my husband and told him that we were not going to use him any more and to send a bill for work done. He sent a bill for $375 for 4 hrs. work (if that).
Spoke to James October 9th (Thursday).
Mentioned to James that $375 was a little outrageous for 4 hrs. work. He said he doesn't quote jobs by the hour but for what he thinks all the jobs are worth to him. I told him that if we can't decide on a different figure then we would call Angie's mediator. He asked what we would be willing to pay and I told him $200. That figure was not acceptable to him.
