Gator Lawn and Landscaping has been offering exceptional lawn and landscape services in the Southern Indiana market for over 30 years. We are a full service lawn and landscape company offering a wide range of services. No job is to big or to small. Fully insured

"He said he could hook up a pump and do sprinkler with no problem. He recommended the pump and I bought it. He hooked it up but did not work. He was responsive to my call at that point. He took instruction book to read the next day. Did not hear from him. Texted him 2 days later and he was rude, saying he "had other clients to take care of. Bottom line, he abandoned the project even though he had been paid and said it worked. He was rude and refused to make his work good. He put in the sprinkler system on another part of the job. Did not want to bury the pvc pipes and put way too strong sprinkler heads on the 3 head system. Said he would switch for smaller heads but didn't. Took my manual and did not return it. Would never hire him for anything."

Lawn Irrigation questions, answered by experts

Technically, yes—and you may have some successful growth—but this isn’t the ideal way to fill in sparse areas. By clearing leaves and debris, amending the soil, and aerating it properly before you lay the seeds, you’re providing the most ideal conditions for them to germinate.

Water your yard a little more deeply after a drought for about two weeks (while still avoiding overwatering). Continue to water in the early morning hours before 10 a.m. You'll also want to invest in some high-quality fertilizer to get more nutrients to your roots and help them grow back stronger and quicker. Look up your grass and soil type, or do a soil test, to see what type of fertilizer you need.

Costs depend on property size, service frequency, and additional tasks like aeration or overseeding.

Some grass types grow better than others on hard dirt. For example, hardy grass types like perennial ryegrass and Kentucky bluegrass will grow better on tough soil. Keep in mind that you should still consider your area’s climate when deciding on a grass type.

When your sod is new, you should keep an eye on it to prevent dehydration. As new sod plants its roots into the soil beneath it, it can easily get dehydrated and start to turn brown. Keeping a consistent watering schedule for your new sod will help prevent this issue and will help it thrive as it roots into your yard.

Once your sod is about six weeks old, you can start to establish a regular lawn maintenance routine, complete with mowing, edging, and fertilizing.
